100% the worst Taco Bell in the area. Consistently bad half cooked food and horrible service. I had the absolute worst experience yet there tonight (Friday 1/21/22) at about 8:15pm. I went through the drive thru and there were about 4-5 cars in front of me and I sat at the broken looking order box with no screen working and a piece of paper taped to it saying something about exact change, but you couldn't read it because the weather had folded it down on itself. Anyway, with the order box looking the condition it was in, and me sitting there patiently until they had those 4-5 cars out of their drive thru I figured the order box was broken so I pulled up to the window to order to a Hispanic girl giving me a dirty look. I was confused because I didn't hear anything at the order box, and she wasn't welcoming at all. I told her I wanted to place an order, and she then told me she told me I needed to wait back at the call box (which I heard NOTHING with a blacked out screen) so I informed her that I heard nothing and she tried then to start an argument with me and told me I'd need to pull back through the drive thru if I wanted to place an order.. And furthermore there were no cars waiting in the drive thru she could have just taken my order at her window, but she wanted to try to argue with me and tell me I was wrong about the box, when I sat there for at least 5 min and didn't hear anything. I placed an order for pickup online on a weekday evening. The online system processed my request, but it was taking an awfully long time (15+ min) with no update notification. I figured I would stop by the store early. Upon arriving, I come to find the building locked from all directions (except for the homeless individual they let in to warm up). Despite seeing me parked in the Mobile Order pickup spot, I was given no directions on what to do. I went into the line, waiting an additional 15 minutes for a drive through of a mere four cars to clear.
When I got to the window, my food had already been bagged and ready to go (still no ready order indication on the website). The food was cold, had lost its crunch, and I needed to retoast/reheat it at home. I also come to find that they substituted a chipotle sauce instead of my requested japaleño pepper add-on. Luckily I don't have any food allergies.
For $18, I could have purchased a number of well-made, delicious Mexican tacos from any restaurant nearby. I suspect it would be hot, I would be notified when ready, and I wouldn't be locked out of the restaurant. Taco Bell is a multi-million dollar property, and fails completely at basic food service. The gentleman working the drive thru made an effort to deliver a sincere sounding apology and continued with my other cravings $5 dollar box options that were available . As I approached the window and went to pay, I believe he apologized again for being out of the newest nacho supreme box and asked me if I would like any sauce, which kinda re- I forced to me that he wanted to make the second best option as perfect as he could. You don’t always see someone demonstrate good manners when delivering bad news. Good manners can make a second favorite almost feel like a first favorite. Keeping it real isn’t who can be the most defensive- keeping it real is hoping not expecting someone will even have a second best that they’ll be ok with .. and you knowing this do whatever it takes to make the second best the best you can possibly do. That’s all .. people tend to appreciate this - and still feel like they got what they wanted .. all in all- I really appreciated the person would was working the drive through yesterday. Being out of something doesnt necessarily mean 1 star.. it certainly can - but in this case the quality of my experience well deserves a 5 star .
