"Do you want more fries?" A review story by Holly ...
The staff at this Red Robin didn't have their best day when we patronized this amazingly mediocre establishment.
My family and I visited this location for a quick bite while out on the town and it was kind of hilariously awkward and bad. My overall takeway is that the staff were not very engaged and communicating with each other. Also in general Red Robin food is really mediocre. I don't recommend in general. The kid's Mac and cheese in the early 2000's was their peak I think.
...
We ordered food and got started fairly quickly and the waitress was truly a polite and nice lady, but there were employees just hanging out in various places, sometimes talking loudly about workplace drama in the dining room instead of helping people. A kind of lame atmosphere for how much they charge.
And THEN! They serve my sister a RAW scorpion burger. Not rare, but like 3% cooked. What do we do? We've never had to send food back before. We waited for our waitress to reappear and ended up waiting several minutes to flag someone down. We finally got a different waiter to help order her a new one. Note: it was NOT busy.
This is the following awkwardness my sister shared with the staff:
Our waitress comes back and asks what we need. We repeat that someone else already put in another order for a fully cooked burger. "Would you like more fries?" "No I'd just like a new burger"
Then ANOTHER person appears. "Your new burger will be ready soon. Would you like more fries?" ... ... "No I'm good."
Finally the new burger appears and my sister at this point is too embarrassed to tell them that the new (and fully cooked!) scorpion burger they brought her didn't have the signature fried jalapeño bites. ... "would you like more fries?"
My sister looks at the brand new plate of fries they brought with the burger.
"No thank you"
By this time the rest of us are done eating and ready to leave. Who I presume to be a manager approaches the table. "How was your meal?" We all just look at each other wanting to just be done with this whole situation. ... "it was fine, thanks for asking."
Were we supposed to tell a fourth person that my sister requested a cooked burger!? How awkward! The lack of communication between people working here was just very uncomfortable. Maybe she should have ordered the kid's...

Not a huge deal, but ok. Searched for about 15 minutes for the waiter to come back so we could let him know. He finally came and took them back to correct. Few minutes later, here comes our meals. Again, the food was incorrect. Ordered with no tomatoes and there were tomatoes. Again, not a huge deal. Took them off myself and proceeded on. Halfway through the meal, our corrected wings finally made their appearance. Had to get a take home box at this point. Finally done, couldn't track down the waiter to get the check. So we grabbed the pay station thing on the table. Opened the bill, and noticed the wings were not on the tab. Figured that they comped them due to the mix up early on. Paid the bill, added the tip and as I was getting ready to hit submit, the whole device was taken out of my hands. Shocked, I looked at some random Red Robin employee who said, you are paying the wrong bill. Apparently someone had switched the devices on two of the tables and we had ordered eerily similar items. The manager came over to the table and removed the battery from the device to try to cancel the transaction. Came back to our table with a different device and said this is your bill, pay this one (yes the wings were now included). When I asked for something to show that the first transaction did not go through or was cancelled, I was told "trust me, it didn't go through" and then walked away. Yeah, I think not. I had to then sit there and pull up my credit card account to verify that it didn't go through twice, making me now late back to work. I get that there are off days, and that mistakes happen, but we didn't get even an apology from management. No sorry for all the mistakes, no let me make this right, no nothing. Such a shame. It was one of my favorite...
Read moreOnly giving 2 stars because the hostesses have always been awesome in helping us out with our wishes of getting a booth. We have a toddler who cannot stay still, and for us it’s a big help. We have lived 5 min away from this location for about 4 years now so it’s normally an easy pick for us, and also very family friendly. We use to go all the time! It’s become less and less frequent for us lately though. And it’s probably going to be a long time before we consider coming back. A while ago from what I could tell there’s been a lot of changes in management, and staff, which is common of course for the restaurant business. But it’s doesn’t look like it’s been working out for them lately. And tonight was the worst! We were seated right away even on a Saturday night (and got a booth)but things quickly went downhill. It took a little bit before we were acknowledged, no big deal. But then after we ordered our food it took over an hour to get it! The server didn’t even know what was going on or mention or try to do anything about it until we had waited at least 45min. Then when he came back all he had was some frys. We all had enough and just wanted to go home and at least be able to enjoy our food, if we were ever going to get it. so asked for it to be boxed up when it was ready. It still took a while even at that point. And the server asked if we wanted some free to-go milkshakes which was cool but then I thought that the food that we were waiting over an hour for would at least be discounted or something. I don’t expect hand outs or anything, but I thought we were really patient and I also work in the restaurant business and know that I would be trying to do anything to keep the customers as happy as possible. Also heard that it was all due to GrubHub orders. But sorry that’s no excuse. Where I work we get online orders from our own system and all other online food ordering companies. It really all starts...
