TJ's Pizza — Restaurant in Asbury Park

THIS PLACE IS THE WOOOOORRRSSSTTT!!! I go in and request grilled buffalo wings. Shortly after, it was placed in front of me. I thought this would be a great simple meal until I took a bite and it tasted like detergent. I took another bite just to make sure my mind wasn't playing tricks on me. So I informed the guy at the register and he made another batch. Then I hear the guy who is making the food continuously sneezing and coughing like he had a hair ball in his throat and his coworker asking him if he needed a cough drop. NO HE NEEDS TO GO HOME WITH THAT! I already paid so I didn't want to leave even though I saw all the signs. So I get the next batch and IT TASTE THE SAME! I'm not sure if the container they made the sauce in was not fully rinsed but it taste like they put the chicken in a washing machine to wash and forgot the rinse cycle. So I get up to request a box bc I thought I could give it to my dog and right behind me is the same guy that took the order putting my food in the garbage even though he saw it was not eaten while I scream "NO! EXCUSE ME NO! I NEED A BOX". He turns around after he put it in the trash and says "oh was she talking to me?" I give this place 1 star because he didn't give me an attitude after I returned the meal the first time. So I guess this isn't the worst after all but the best of the worst. Still not worth the money or time. Now my stomach is cramping ... was better off getting...

I have lived in the area for a long time and eaten from TJ’s numerous times, however the service and quality of food has gone down hill!! They used to be a good place to eat if nothing else is open as a last resort, but I ordered a large pie for delivery and by the time it arrived at my house an hour late, the cheese was completely stuck to the top of the box. Not only was the cheese not on the pizza but it was already cold. When I tried contacting the restaurant no one answered and they continually answered and hung up the phone saying they were closed. It had not even been 5 minutes since the driver left my house. There is no way you should be declining customers you’ve only just helped if there is a problem with the order, especially if your delivery driver hasn’t returned to the restaurant yet. By far this was the worst experience I’ve ever had at TJ’s and I honestly regret having spent my money with them. This is not the first time I’ve gotten horrible customer service from them, I guess it depends on the day or the customer who they choose to show their polite and friendly faces. I will never order from this place ever again!! Such nasty attitudes, and the food is consistently getting worse, I would not recommend, they desperately need...

FOOD: Truly spectacular, old school NJ pizza - both by the slice and by the pie. Head and shoulders more delicious than any other pizzeria in the area -- or possibly anywhere.

SERVICE: From the two brothers who own the place, and the pizza chef who makes all the food to the delivery people who are beyond polite -- this place offers a warm welcome and world-class service.

ATMOSPHERE: Not be ignored is the atmosphere inside the pizzeria. It's so classic with sentimental photos and news articles on the walls, clean booth seating with napkins on every table, a pizza spice station with all the favorites (red pepper flakes, garlic, oregano, etc.). Plus, and this is absolutely my favorite part of this particular location, the cast of characters who dip in here for a slice are BEYOND fascinating. This place attracts a wide array of locals, including sinners and saints -- and everyone in between. Many, including local police officers, stand at the corner and shoot the breeze at the counter, while waiting to pick up...
