Unprofessional staff; getting special Valentine dinner package with $69 for each and receive nothing other than terrible services. Seems like the only guys who was actually serving was the runner bringing food from the back. Seems like host was the one who in charge but clearly can not do anything with his staff. The restaurant was greedy enough to separate the dinner into 2 sections with regular diner( also with reservations) and one side for Valentine diners . The audacity of asking everyone who showed up at that Valentine’s dinner to make reservations and risking $40 cancellations fee for such a places that make all feels like we actually begged for food and waited to be feed while actual other side diners guests has more attention and probably received decent service ( I’m not even sure if other side have better services but seems like all of the serves were running there and totally forgot about the Valentines section though we were sitting literally right at front house which closer to kitchen and the bar plus host section). Does not seems to me all of the serves are went through proper basic training as a restaurant serves standard before actually working, or maybe they did ( Ihave to give credit because there was one small girl actually moving pretty fast, bus again still did not serving in our section, the only one time we actually have time to interact with the serves was when she came to take off the plate and told us that we will need to hold on to the utensils as they will not provide us a second pair, I may or may not get it right but whatever they said based on restaurant rule doesn’t sounds right to me. Most of the staff doesn’t seem to be care much about customer’s experience due to the lacking of management skills of those whoever in charges of the restaurant. What a hot mess! Not sure if $69 was small money to them. To arrange this kind of dinner I had to asked my boyfriend to take off work early and driving 48 mins so we could dine there with such a high expectation and willing to put down quite amount of money to get a good time. None of the experience we were having was worth single effort. Either your are too desperate and really planed on ripping off your customers. Definitely not a same experience I has as other Rupa Vira restaurants or any other Indian/Nepal restaurants in the DMV areas. If you were nothing related to the name Rupa Vira, please take it off the name and stop scamming other as you were just received the hype that you were not deserved. Food in the menu for valentine we has was pretty decent if I would not say in the way that wasn’t wowed me. My boyfriend said he would still coming back to order carry out the food if the price was under $20 as the food only could worth that price to him, PERSONALLY! AGAIN, if you wanted to try out yourself these kind of experiences, please feels free to try out. The post was based 100% my experiences here and also my first post of telling people not to come to any kind of business because to me as the end of the day we all need to make money get through life. But doesn’t means you could just ripping other off for your own good under the name of fancy restaurant. There are many real good restaurant out there tried hard and suffer to work to get customers to come to try out they food and hard works. Some people out there work as a serves even get hours cut if their performance wasn’t great, and in this place, everything that unbelievable in restaurant business became so true and unfair in such annoy way.
I will not post as much pictures as you wanted cuz I have to admit they are pretty good to make thing nice and pretty, but as you could see the veggies they put on the starter soup which I received last night not even fresh and looking like it almost die. I ate it just because we spends literally $69 for the meal but getting frustrated toward the end and left of the premade...
Read moreI visited on a quiet Saturday night of a holiday weekend to experience what reviews were saying and mark a family birthday anniversary. The exterior looks relatively plain compared with the brightly colored and clean interior. I had the bar area and the barkeep mostly to myself the entire night and enjoyed approachable and attentive service throughout. I especially appreciated the sensitivity paid to my tree nut and peanut allergy, as I was steered away from one appetizer course I was planning to order as a result. Wandering through the menu, I decided on a drink to begin and finish my meal of two appetizers and mains. Food arrived in a timely and accurate fashion save one hiccup on my second main which was easily forgivable given the rest of the service.
The Kala Khatta drink had a good appearance and punch from the fruit syrup and felt refreshingly assertive compared with another version I had elsewhere. The kale appetizer struck me as quite sweet overall, probably owing to the fruit and pearls elements in the dish. The portion was generous. I could have used an element of heat and less fruit to complement the kale taste better. Scallops had a similarly sweet note in the accompanying mousse which both had good textures otherwise. More savoriness in both appetizers would have been appreciated. The chicken tikka was a highlight with a proper tamarind sauce garnishing an equally proper portion of chicken cooked nearly perfectly and seasoned just right for my taste. I did not find the foam to add much to this plate, as I would have instead welcomed a chutney on the other side to go with the green tamarind. The chick pea side was spiced nicely with a good texture and feel for the chick peas. The dish had a bit too much oil/ghee as I ate halfway through an otherwise well tasting accompaniment. The salmon had a great tasting sauce surrounding the lone piece of fish which for the price I was anticipating more. The fish itself was cooked more medium to medium well, so maybe a little less tandoor time would have elevated the overall satisfying taste that much more. Bread arrived hot and had a crunchy exterior and appropriate taste throughout. The mango lassi for my dessert proved a good flavor and consistency even if the portion seemed somewhat restrained from other experiences elsewhere.
The total bill came to exactly $100 before tax and tip, leaving me wondering whether I got a reasonable value. Part of me viewed the artistry and creativity of the plates in awe, while another part of me wondered if my tastes longed for more traditional flavors of these dishes (the chicken excepted). I think I know where I would concentrate my calories if I returned, possibly with others in the area. I am generally glad I visited to experience this interpretation of northern...

A Memorable Evening at Celebration by Rupa Vera
I recently hosted a friends' get-together party at Celebration by Rupa Vera, a renowned Indian restaurant in Ashburn, and it was truly unforgettable. The venue’s reputation for hosting special events was well-deserved, and it certainly did not disappoint.
Ambiance and Decor: Celebration offers a warm, inviting ambiance with rich, classic decor. The private dining area reserved for our event was beautifully adorned with elegant table settings, setting the perfect tone for a celebratory evening.
Service: The staff were exceptional throughout the event. A dedicated event coordinator ensured that everything went smoothly, from the initial setup to the final moments. The servers were attentive and efficiently managed our large group without any issues.
Food and Drinks: The party featured a lavish buffet with a wide range of Indian delicacies. Highlights included the Lotus Stem Chaat and colorful Chicken Kabobs (in Snacks), Dabba Chicken (rich and flavorful), and the perfectly spiced butter squash Kofta (in main course). The freshly baked naans complemented the curries beautifully. Desserts like Gulab Jamun Mousse and Rasbari Ka Ghosla were a hit with everyone. The drink selection was also impressive, offering a variety of mocktails and traditional lassis.
Atmosphere: The lively atmosphere, enhanced by a mix of traditional music and a DJ, kept everyone in high spirits. The restaurant’s setup facilitated mingling and dancing, making the evening both enjoyable and engaging.
Value for Money: Considering the quality of the food, service, and overall experience, the cost was reasonable. The restaurant clearly communicated all pricing details upfront, avoiding any surprises.
Final Thoughts: Overall, Celebration by Rupa Vera provided a fantastic venue for our event. From the delicious food to the excellent service and vibrant atmosphere, everything was handled with care.
