Pelican's SnoBalls of Asheboro — Restaurant in Asheboro

This place is walk up and order. Their specialty is shaved ice of all flavors. We loved this concept, but the execution wasn't that good. First of all, walking up, the grounds were full of litter/trash. The picnic tables were dirty and covered in a sticky residue, plus areas of the tables needed repaired and all of tables needed cleaned then painted. The building needed painted and repaired all around. When we ordered the pelican snoball of our choice, the staff was helpful, but not friendly. The snoball was very, very sugary sweet, it would be great if they had 1/2 the sugar type available. Overall, I probably might return if they cleaned the place up, painted and repaired all that...

Sorry to say, this Pelican's has been in Asheboro several years before I finally went to it for the first time. (Kid made me go) There was no line, the service was super fast, no slow pokes here. Their yard was clean. The scoop was full, the flavors spot on! (I got cheesecake, then guava) my son got frogger...I don't think that was supposed to taste like a frog...tasty anyways. Delicious shaved ice, good prices. Very family friendly. Coconut Cream is the best flavor. They have sidewalk chalk and corn hole for entertainment. You can even get your dog his very own bowl with a milkbone on top. Only con is the tables are not regularly cleaned and become quite sticky by later in the day, so bring a pack of wet wipes for table clean up and for when the kids hands and mouths start...
