Post 25 Kitchen & Lounge — Restaurant in Asheville

Used to love this place even though the customer service wasn't always great. Servers screwed up my order a few times over the years and never offered much of an apology, but it's somewhat close to home and the food quality is pretty consistent. Over the pandemic we've ordered take-out from there several times. They do a good job with it. But Saturday they really screwed up my order. I got a burnt hockey puck burger instead of rare. I mean...burned! When I called, the manager said whoever took the order picked "medium well". Odd since I told the girl over the phone twice that I wanted rare. So his solution was to make me a new one but didn't offer to comp it. FYI to all restaurant managers who are now dealing with more "take out" than ever...this is a stupid solution. You made a mistake so the customer should get back in their car and drive back out again? The two other people I bought food for would either wait for me, while their food gets cold...or eat without me when our plan was to have dinner together. Really bad solution and I'm tired of it. If someone chooses that option you should comp their meal!! I opted for a refund of my individual meal, which I was told I'd receive by Tuesday or Wednesday...it's now Thursday and no refund. I'm done with horrible customer service. I lambasted Vinnies South for doing the same exact thing over the winter. Wanted us to come back, in the freezing cold, to pick up the entree they forgot. They never even offered a refund. At least Post 25 did, even though I never got it. So crossing Post 25 off my list of fave places to eat. I won't be returning.

UPDATE: never received a refund. This was one of our regular, go-to restaurants so my son convinced me to give it another try, and we did on 5-14. He made sure to make it VERY clear I wanted a RARE burger (which I have gotten there many times in the past...until the last time. This burger was NOT even close to rare!! And manager supposedly wasn't there...on a Saturday night. So disappointed. Wish I had stuck with my guns and not ordered from there again. So...out $15 again...wasted a 20% tip again...and eating cereal for dinner...again. But no one will convince me to ever order from...

My family and I had the absolute worst dining experience ever on Saturday, Feb. 24. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated immediately, but then waited for over 10 minutes for a waiter to come by to get a drink order from us. No big deal, we ordered our drinks, and he came back immediately to take our order, but we were not ready to order. we waited an additional 15 minutes just for him to bring the drinks and for him to come back and take our order. Then we proceeded to wait over 30 minutes for him to come back and tell us that the two specials we had ordered featured on the front board were not being served until that evening. We re-ordered at that point, and waited an additional 20 minutes just for the salad and appetizers to arrive. Everything came out at different times, and the appetizers came out only a few minutes before some of the meal items. Both My Husband and Daughter did not receive their food and then finally, they brought my Husband‘s food 20 minutes later. When we were finished eating, they came and told us that they had burned the pizza for my daughter and had another one coming which at that point, we said we did not want. My fish and chips was absolutely disgusting, undercooked , over battered and dripping with grease. My Husband’s steak was burned even though it was supposed to be rare, and the salad was slimy. I was very disappointed because I had heard so many amazing things about this place. The menu looked great but the food was disgusting. We think our waiter forgot to put our food in and then just was trying to cover for it the whole time. They did end up, comping the pizza for my daughter, and sent it with us to take home. We basically paid over $125 for inedible food and the only thing edible were the chicken nuggets that my eight year old ordered. And we wasted almost 2 hours there of our day just trying to get a simple lunch. I just don’t think I can go back there again and pay that kind of money for horrible service and disgusting food. The atmosphere was very cool, and the management was extremely friendly though, but probably not really aware of what exactly we had gone...

Came here on a Sunday around 2 pm for bunch and the place was dead. When we walked in we were seated by a blonde lady with tattoos all over her chest. From there I could see a table of 5 already dinning where another waiter was tending to them and not the girl who sat us. So we ordered our drinks and food and waited. While waiting, a couple was seated behind us, and the male waiter tended to them. He was going back and forth between the tables making sure they were satisfied and tending their needs. However, our waitress never checked on us. While waiting still, the couple who came in way after us, got their food. I was pretty angry at this point. Our waitress never checked on us, yet the waiter working two tables was obviously great to other tables. After 24 minutes of waiting, the waitress brought our food out, I asked her what was going on and why we had to wait. Her response?? “I’m sorry but you really didn’t have to wait that long. We also have one cook right now and he’s never worked Sunday brunch before.” Seriously??? Rather than taking responsibility for her lack of service she acts like a brat!! I was so angry I couldn’t eat. Sent my food back, and she still charged me for 50% of it, so I went up to the front to ask for the manager. And guess what... our waitress was the manager!!!! Bahahaha!! How pathetic that this person is supposed to be a professional, and clearly not!! I told her that this service was unacceptable, and how we have come before where the service was great. She stared at me like I was speaking Chinese and deliberately blinked her eyes like she was annoyed that I was annoyed for her incompetence. Finally she just put her hands up and said we didn’t have to pay. So I didn’t.

I’ve since removed my stunning review of this place and replaced it with this. Horrible management and service from even the manager.

We will never ever go here again, and will not recommend...
