My family was looking for a delicious heart warming meal and we found just that at Khao Thai Cuisine! The building itself is tucked away on a small hill in the Skyland Springs shopping center, with plenty of parking directly in front of the restaurant.
We were greeted and seated promptly and noticed right away that everyone in the dining area was smiling and enjoying their food...so we knew we were in good hands.
Our server, Sai, was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and VERY patient with my family as we found it hard to make our selections as there were so many items that we wanted to try.
My 9 year old son fell in love with the Curry Puffs, with the Spring Rolls in a close second. The light crispy texture of the Curry Puff dough is a perfect contrast to the minced chicken, potato, and onion filling which was reminiscent of my favorite chicken pot pies growing up, so be forewarned they may be addicting,
We also tried the traditional Tom Yum soup, as it was one of my wife's favorites during her time in Thailand.
I don't think you could go wrong with any of their entrees, as each of our dishes were fantastic. Our plates were loaded with fresh veg, fragrant broth, and the perfect blend of curry. The portion size was tremendous, as we all walked away with lunch for the next day.
Hands down my favorite dish of the night was the Massaman Curry...I could not get enough. I went with "Hot", which is one step down from "Thai Hot"...it was the perfect heat level for me as I could actually enjoy the spice and left with my tastebuds intact.
Highly recommend....
Read moreSomeone told my husband about this restaurant. It was my first visit to this little gem. I have passed this restaurant many times in the strip center, and I don’t believe I have ever seen it. People seem to know about this restaurant, though, because it filled pretty quickly after we arrived. I loved how the perimeter tables had a comfortable, upholstered booth along the wall, and chairs in front. We ordered the Chicken Satay as an appetizer. It was different from what I was expecting. It came as plain, flat pieces of breast. The sauce was prettily presented with small sliced vegetables. But, it was unexpected that you could see stringy trails when you dipped from it. This had a very unappealing look to me, and I would not order again. I selected the Garlic & Black Pepper for my entree and added Chicken. This more than made up for the appetizer. It was delicious! I would order this again, the next time I went. The flavors were just the right depth, without any one being overpowering. And, it came out steaming hot. The service was very pleasant as well. One very uncomfortable experience during our visit, was that it was freezing cold inside when we arrived. I will ensure I have a warm jacket on our next visit! That is the reason why I rated 4 stars on Atmosphere, otherwise, it would...
Read moreI was sad Bean Vegan Cuisine closed during the pandemic. But have no fear veganites: Khao Thai Cuisine is HERE, at the same location. They happily offer vegan alternatives for menu items. I got the Spicy Vegetable, my wife the Vegetable Delight entrees; both with tofu and jasmine rice. The veggies were cooked to perfection ....neither mushy nor too raw, but chewy and full of flavor. Yum, yum. This was a perfect luncheon celebration after consulting my urologist, who diagnosed me "CURED" of prostate cancer, after 15 years of "undetectable" PSA levels! He praised my "heart-friendly diet" and cited epidemiological research that prostate cancer is rare in regions of the world (like southeast Asia) with a soy-based diet. Thai food and other soy-based vegan cuisine contributed a major role in my cancer remission! Thank you Khao Thai and vegetarian chefs...
