First; they did a killer job renovating the place - looks very clean and modern in comparison to restaurants before. Second; the woman that approached us to take care of us was so kind and attentive. She explained their “food mission” and answered our questions but didn’t hover. Third; the food… THE FOOD. OMG it was incredible. Very affordable for what you get and it was so tasty I couldn’t stop. We got it to-go because we wanted drinks and the bar wasnt open yet but it held up great. I was skeptical at first because the combo (Mexican chicken and ribs) sounded a little random to me but I was totally wrong. I got ribs, my man got chicken and we shared. The food was good but over-priced. The layout is weird and it seems kinda like you are at someones house....but it looked clean. The lady at the front didn't know much English....just pointed and smiled..which was fine but if she could communicate she might have understood when I asked if it came with rice and beans...she just smiled and took my money. The enchiladas were tasty but you get 4 small ones with some cheese and a beverage for $15...no side...just the enchiladas and your drink..which was just water for me.....so definitely not worth it for a lunch stop. The food was hot, fresh, and served pretty fast. ....not sorry I tried the place..but is a definite hard no...

HIDDEN GEM of Asheville! Don't let the outside fool you, this place serves up DELICIOUS food all made from scratch. I know good Mexican food (from TX) and this place tops many places back home. Any place that makes their own tortillas is doing it right and pouring love into their food. The entire menu is GLUTEN FREE too!

We got... The flautas (Class of 31) were perfectly fried and filled with their charbroiled chicken. The salsa trio and homemade chips were the BOMB! The chicken plate and it could easily serve 2 adults. Rice and beans are full of flavor too.
