I always go into a "Fastfood Experience" with the predisposition that there are more 'somethings' that will go wrong than right. Unfortunately, I was right, again...
1.) While you CAN order through the McD's app I wouldn't suggest it if there is ANYTHING special about your order. [Ex.A]You can't add "Big Mac" sauce to ANY food item, unless, of course, it IS a "Big Mac". [Ex.B]Order a Frappe (any flavor & size) try to substitute the standard drizzle for chosen Frappe for the opposite flavor and get denied unless you pay the surcharge for one serving of drizzle. In other words there is no way to just click "SUB CARAMEL" or "SUB MOCHA". I always order a Mocha Frappe with Caramel drizzle; substitute for free when ordered with a human, but charged when using app or kiosk. (Because, ya know, one serving of drizzle per drink is what you should get, regardless of flavor) Not only do you get charged for a simple substitute but because of the upcharge serving AND the standard serving you should already be getting it should be made as an EXTRA Caramel but its not... [Ex.C] This is not only an issue with fountain drinks, but yet again, with the whole ordering process. Knowing what drinks my local McD's offers when visiting in person is basically just useless knowledge since only the 'Basic' sodas are offered through App and Online. There is a labeled section that reads, "Special Requests" in the edit menu of each item ordered. However it is completely void of any relevance to the process since it doesn't allow for even a limited number of typed characters. As an example, the Quarter Pounder that I wanted to order earlier, with "Big Mac" sauce added to it only had a single check box option under "Special Requests" and it was reserved for the boring, underwhelming, and quite frankly, the criminal specification, of "Plain".
The rely on kiosks to take care of ordering process and since COVID was a trial run for businesses to figure out just how much of their human labor could be replaced it is ultimately the fastest option if you are paying with an EFT of ay kind. If you still think "Cash is King", think again. You end up waiting forever to get a real person to come take your verbal order and tender your "real" money just so you can wait another 15+ minutes to get a milkshake and one sandwich because all those other people got their orders in before you... Simple because they haven't trained the robots to take the Monopoly paper yet... You'd think they'd just buy bill accepters on the kiosks, like a soda machine or something.
I think part of me just felt like ranting but at least it was accurate.
I apologize for getting into so much detail about unimportant foodie issues. But this time, it was just too much...
Like my Pops always says, "They Fk you! Everytime you order Fastfood, they Fk you!". UPDATED REVIEW⤴️⤴️ OLD REVIEW⤵️⤵️ Also I have to agree with powercell the most recent review. I too have been to this McDonald's many a night looking for something to munch on and I too have been sadly disappointed by the dim parking lot and the non-existent voice over the intercom telling me absolutely nothing as the sound of crickets echo around me. They have been closed. OR after going through the drive-thru, they tellin me over the phone (after not answering the intercom) that they can only do pastries, hash browns, or breakfast burritos even though I know they could microwave some hotcakes; because, ya know, that's how they're made...
This McDonald's is poorly staffed and needs a DM to come in and help the GM because I see how hard they try. And the crap they have...
Read moreUpdate: After not being back since my last post to this location. I decided to see if the could handle my order. I asked if they had the new peanut butter crunch McFlurry (out today at participating locations). The young lady at the window replied, “what?” I repeated what I had said. She replied, “no.” I asked do you know if/when you will be getting it in. Her reply was, “no.” This place has negative customer service. Whoever manages this place I’m sure you have your hands full, but you are not making any helpful difference. The employees that I have come into contact with are for the most part bored, uncaring and terrible at their jobs. Never will be back. I enjoy the location on Brevard road more and if you venture to the black mountain location those people are lovely.
A few weeks ago I went through the drive thru. I ordered 2 sausage biscuits and 2 hashbrowns. I received 1 sausage biscuit and 2 hashbrowns. The week before last I was tired after working a very long shift with no break and decided to make it easy on myself and go here. Mistake. I ordered 2 double cheeseburgers for someone else and a quarter pounder meal for myself. At the second window they tried to hand me someone else’s order. I told them that was not my order. I got an extremely confused look followed by another confused look from the employee he went to speak with. I received my food, looked right as I could tell and I left. When I got home there was only a burger patty in the quarter pounder box. I wrote to McDonalds. I ended up getting an email back stating they apologize and they’ll go over this with the workers. I replied that I wanted my money back or something equivalent. But not coupons because coupons can also be messed up. That was over a week ago. I understand this is fast food, but fast food is getting very expensive. I do wonder what looks I would get if when I was asked at my work a question about medications, anesthesia, etc and I just gave the person a confused look how that would go over. Not well I assume. Please put the all the correct items on the screen in the bag and give that to the...
Read moreThis mcdonalds claims its 24 hours. Well I went there Wednesday the 13th around 3. Employees inside the store, cars in the drive thru windows. I pull up to the speaker to order. And I'm not answered for 10 minutes. Meanwhile another person drives to the other speaker (this drive thu has two lanes) isn't greeted for 5 minutes, but eventually someone takes his order and he moves to the window. I wait another 5 minutes, then drive off. While driving off I see two employees inside doing nothing but talking, so I circle back around and pull back up to the speaker to order (used the other speaker incase the one I used was broken) and was rudely greeted by a male employee. The employee says "I'll be with you in a minute" to which I reply "ok, thanks". This little punk gets back on the speaker and says "I SAID, I'LL BE WITH YOU IN A MINUTE!" I once again said "ok, got it"... Another 5 minutes go by with no response and no one in the Windows, so I drive ofd, hungry and pissed.
I come back the next night ( ONLY place to eat in town after midnight and I work graveyard) once again it took more than 5 minutes to be answered at the window. A nice lady answered and took my order. Order was slow to be given to me, but at least I got my food.
Tonight I go there to eat before I go home at 1 am. As I pull in I see 2 employees outside the back door cutting up and messing around smoking. I pull up to the window, and get told "we are closed right now" I said ok, but I thought this was a 24 hour mcdonalds... No reply so I drive off.
Obviously the 3rd shift crew here isnt managed, nor care about the customers who pay their salaries. Its more about socializing to the employees, and the customers who come to eat are just ignored. I will no longer be eating mcdonalds anywhere, as this store has left me hungry and ignored. Id suggest you fire the lazy ass incompetent losers on your night crew (especially the night shift manager) before you lose anymore customers. Thanks...
