Extremely rude service. No sanitary measures, that really bothered me - I went this past Friday with my autistic son. It was my first time there, and I'm extremely disappointed. ☆Somehow my review has magically shrank down, differently, or disappeared - the last few days I've tried to fix it - then undone. So here I go again::
No smiles. Dreary atmosphere. No sushi or hibachi on a Friday night no less. No cracker for crab, sliced my finger almost enough to need stitches. !!!NO sanitary measures, like gloves as most other buffet restaurants still use, due to Covid and flu both!!!
Ice cream Station; there was a scoop sitting in disgusting murky water on a dirty freezer cart. The ice cream was inside deep barells, all used up near the bottom. And frozen so hard, i could barely get any. I wanted something sweet - so tried anyway. Mostly, because they took the fruit away and broke down the buffet early. It was my only option.
Our waitress treated us as a nuisance, nothing more. She gave no receipt - so I can only assume 2 buffets, a sweet tea, and an ice water cost $39.96. She mumbled, and pushed out 4 cents from the tray. My son was paying, I wouldn't let him give her a big tip because of how she'd acted - she made sure to avoid us after she picked up her tip.
I walked over, asked for a to-go sweet tea, she had the pitcher in hand, and went for the styrofoam cup, stopped, turned back around and told me i'd have to pay. "I fill glass" she said. Kinda was no point, and a slap in the face honestly. As a former food service worker - we both knew she had to pour that tea out as is!
So when designer dressed young asian men, in puffy jackets, who had watched everyone, stared us down -as if they did - and parents probably do - own the place.
After I had my ice cream, and had taken a couple bites - one of the men told me we needed to go. I said I was just finishing my ice cream - he says "No, you take with you."
SO..... I watched him walk to the same drink station, grab a good ol' styrofoam cup!🤯 As he walks past, I said, "Why can I not have a tea 'to go' - yet I can take my ice cream!?" He ignores me. Brings cup to our table, to watch me put it in there. Just quickly straigtening, putting all trash on one plate, he Stops me. Says, "Someone get that, you go."
I have NEVER felt so disrespected or treated as rudely anywhere!
They practically Pushed us out the door!
I dont recommend this expensive buffet to anyone - unless the restaurant makes...

Finally my server came by and I said I would like a sweet tea to go. He started fussing at me and saying only one refill over and over. I said I understand. Could I have an empty cup to put the tea I have left in . NOOOO! We don't bring cups to the table!!! Although he had brought a cup to the lady sitting next to me for her to put her tea in to go?? So, I didn't think I was asking for any special treatment. He said TO GO TEA IS $1.98!!! I said that's ok, I would like one to go. He became upset again and said you have to get it up there (at the front where you pay. Ok, seemed like a waste for them if I was perfectly willing to pay $1.98 for the to go cup and just put my leftover tea in it. So, I went to the front and tried to explain to the cashier that I would like a sweet tea to go. There was much more lecturing me on only one refill and no taking out "leftovers". I understood that all too well and just wanted them to add $1.98 to my bill and get me a sweet tea to go, as my server told me was the process. Nope, no way. I got more conversation about the process. But no sweet tea to go for me to buy! I guarantee I am not a person that is going to squabble over $1.98! And I dare say my generous tip for my server was probably considerably more than most people tip ... even though I was talked to like a second class citizen - or a sweet tea thief! I'm not sure I've ever been talked to by a server and cashier like I was today at Shogun Buffet. Just because I wanted to buy a sweet...

I remeber getting their salmon becuase it used to be so good back in the day. but I guess these guys like handing out TAPEWORM for 9.99 a lb of food you get for takeout. YES the fish that they have out there is almost RAW. and they clearly DIDNT CLEAN THE FISH BEFORE COOKING IT. becuase when I took that first BIG BITE. I was coughing and gagging up FISH SCALES....FISH SCALES. like are yall SERIOUS??? I threw the rest of the fish away IMMEDDIELATLY. EVER since that meal I've been having an upset stomach, fatigue and loss of appetite. Not to mention diarrhea and mild nausea. It didn't even taste cooked. So now I've got my docters appointment tommorrow to see if I have TAPEWORM. if I find out that I do, which I KNOW I DO. you will be recieving a friendly little letter from my Attorney. And you will be paying a VERY FRIENDLY FINE. Heck yall may just have to close down and GET LOST. I'm absolutely dissapointed not only in this quality of this restaurants food, but also with their Staff and management. I know alittle bit of Chinese/mandarin as well as Japanese and Spanish. I've gone in there plenty of times and before and while I'm getting my food I've heard the employees making fun of the customers as well as me. YALL THINK YOUR SLICK? DONT YA. WELL SEE HOW SLICK YOU ARE WHEN I GET A FEW HEALTH INSPECTORS AT YOUR DOOR.
