🌮✨ If You Like Overpaying for Mediocre Food… This Is NOT the Place for You ✨🌮
If you don’t like walking into a restaurant and immediately being greeted like you just walked onto the set of Cheers—where everybody knows your name (or at least acts like they should)—then Taco Billy is not for you.
If friendly, joyful humans who actually like their jobs weird you out, this place is not for you. I mean, the staff was so kind I almost asked one of them to officiate my future wedding, bless their heart.
If you’re the type who likes to feel just a little bit judged when ordering dessert at the counter, I regret to inform you: here, the dessert literally flirted with me. Like, “hey gorgeous, you know you want me,” and you know what? I did want it. And baby, it delivered. If you’re hoping for a bland, dry bite of regret, this place is not for you — that dessert was scandalously good.
Now, let’s talk about prices… If you enjoy walking out of a restaurant wondering whether you accidentally financed a yacht with your lunch tab, this place is definitely not for you. I paid so little, I double-checked my receipt because I thought I made the mistake. Y’all, I practically felt like I was robbing them. Taco Billy, sweethearts, please — raise your prices. I’m serious. I shouldn’t leave a restaurant this happy and this under budget. It’s suspicious. 😂
Also, when they brought me the wrong order (which, spoiler alert: was divine), I had already eaten it because it was that good. Did they argue? Get defensive? Nope. They smiled that “we got you” smile, handed me what I originally ordered, and blessed me with two heavenly meals in one afternoon. 🙌
But here’s where the heart hits home: I took that unexpected bonus meal and found someone else who needed it more than me. I believe life always creates moments like that — and Taco Billy, whether they knew it or not, played a part in a little act of love that day. For that, I say thank you. 💛
If you don’t like joy, kindness, generosity, mouthwatering food, warm patio vibes with charming street views, or feeling like you just discovered a hidden gem sent straight from the universe… then this place is definitely not for you.
Otherwise? Darling, get in your car, bring your appetite, and head to Taco Billy. I’ll be the one outside, ordering dessert first and thanking God for tacos that taste like love.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (But if I could give them six stars and a glitter...
Read morei don’t normally ever go out of my way to write a review but my experience was so disappointing that i felt the need. i grew up in asheville and heard a lot about taco billy but had never been until yesterday, but i knew the reputation so i had high hopes. i’ll start with the positives: the cantaloupe agua fresca was really, really good. the queso was tasty, although a bit lukewarm. i thought the kirb service was tasty, but it was very much just a meat taco if you’re looking for variety of taste. now the negatives: the salsa? literally just blended tomatoes. so flavorless and boring that we didn’t eat more than a few bites, literally no spice and no flavor other than tomato. adding hot sauce couldn’t even save it. all of our tacos came on flour tortillas when several of them were supposed to be on corn tortillas? that isn’t a huge deal but come on, that’s pretty simple. my partner and i both had the san cris and they said that it mostly just tasted sweet, i didn’t try mine. after i had the kirb service, i took one bite of the lunch lady and had to stop myself from gagging. their mole tastes more similar to a child’s mud and dirt playground potion than a traditional mole, it was HORRIFICALLY disgusting. my appetite was gone after that. and all of this for $74. the other reviews mention “reasonable prices” but this isn’t at all “reasonable”! mamacita’s has better tacos for cheaper! honestly any taco truck in the WNC area has tastier tacos for half or even a quarter of the price. maybe if you’re having one singular breakfast taco it’s “reasonable.” but like $7 for a little cup of lukewarm queso and some chips is absurd. the price of the flavorless salsa was even worse, that was maybe worth a single quarter for such a bad salsa. anyone who believes this is cost effective is out of their mind. i don’t like taco boy, i think it’s also disappointing, but i’d recommend even taco boy over this place. overall i say save your money and eat elsewhere. my partner said their breakfast tacos were good in the past, i can’t speak to that because i haven’t had them, but if you’re gonna order anything here i’d save yourself some disappointment and order...
Read moreEdit: I did an online order on May 12th and in addition to tacos I ordered a t-shirt which was $20. When I got to the store they said they didn't have that size in stock and would refund me for the shirt. I never received a refund back on my card. I tried to call them and could not get them on the phone. So I left a message on their website and no response. So now Taco Billy are officially thieves. I am planning to contact my bank to get the charge reversed, which is completely ludicrous that I have to do that.
I used to love Taco Billy and have been coming here for years. Unfortunately, starting last year I have had conflicting messages from staff there about their Santi tacos. To clarify, I am Muslim and do not eat pork. First they never said there was pork in them. It was always just chicken. Then they started posting that it contained pork. So I asked them about it and I was told last year that was incorrect and it was chicken only. So I kept ordering it. Now I went this weekend and the menu says that the Santi taco contains chorizo. I did not see that before ordering so I guess I ate pork....???? However, it depends on who you talk to because some workers there say it does and others say no there is no pork. Taco Billy needs to figure it out and train their employees appropriately about the menu because eating something that goes against a religious dietary restriction is very upsetting and should not be happening in this day and age. If I had said I had gluten allergy I would have received more consideration than telling people I don't eat pork and that is downright...
