Have you ever had to pee so bad that you mentally give up and instead of looking for options to drain oneself….you begin to think of excuses you can make for sporting saturated pants? This was how I found Perfect Pollo Restaurant but by the grace of the Gods I found their restroom first and evaded soggy swimwear.
Upon entering Perfect Pollo it looks very much like the typical strip mall bar/restaurant that would be within walking distance of a few big hotels and open late night to capitalize on this fact. The place is generously spacious and lotsa TV’s for the sports fanatic wanting to listen to Stephen A. Smith shout. It wasn’t super busy so I was greeted quickly and thought initially that take out would be best move. The next song came over the speakers loudly and it matched my tempo so I warmed up quicker than a microwave at the sight of some lonely beer taps and chose to dine in. A beer and a burrito seemed like it would scratch my itch…hmmm…Let’s add the shrimp as well since Im feeling saucy.
The low key light beer I ordered arrived fast and departed quickly. The Shrimp Burrito was whipped together so quickly in the kitchen that I prepared for the worst. First bite…Big Shrimp. Second bite…Bigger shrimp seasoned and seared so I knew things were gonna be ok. The ingredients were well sourced as I could taste their presence independently with each bite. The corn danced. The rice was just right while the beans, onions and cheese sang to me as a harmonic trio. A decent selection indeed as you can tell by the condition of the burrito in the picture. Whether you are sitting in a nearby hotel reading this or debating getting off at the next exit to look for grub…just know that you should probably make the move. It’s far better than average and you might just meet your next ex-wife or husband here. Thanks for reading and please follow along as I continue to travel everywhere and review almost everything.

Read moreI found this place driving up from Miami and decided to stop and take a break , when I saw this restaurant across the street from the Starbucks. It was pretty busy on the outside, so I thought that, “ it must be good.” I walked in and I had a young lady take me over to the takeout area while I decided on what I was getting only to be standing there for an extended period of time waiting to order along with another person. I actually had to wave someone down so that I could order. When the guy finally came over he was very nice and helpful with my ordering process. I ordered and ended up waiting very long again for the food to come out even though the lady said that it would be quick because the chicken was already ready. While I was waiting I ordered a strawberry guava lemonade and it also took forever to come out. When the guy finally came a handed it to me, it’s was good but didn’t taste like lemonade at all. It was more on the strawberry aqua Fresca side. I got back to my Hotel and tried the chicken, it was very dried out on the outer part of it. The only thing that was fairly fresh were the rice and beans and the guacamole. I was a little disappointed because in Miami you can go to any Peruvian restaurant and get a half chicken w/ rice and beans for about $10 tops and the chicken is always fire and delicious everywhere that u go. So I thought that I can’t go wrong, but unfortunately that’s not the case here in Virginia and they are charging more. This was the second Peruvian restaurant that I tried and both were very mediocre. They would never be able to compete with the Peruvian restaurants in Miami. I’m taking it that their aren’t many options in the area, so this is the go to local joint. The area is very quiet and newly Developed but I’m not sure that I would...
Read moreThis was our first time here and unfortunatelymy last time! I like to support local businesses and do food blog reviews so we tried it. We did eat it because we were hungry due to us traveling and wanting to try local places! I definitely didn't get Mexican restaurant!!!The menu was all over the place american, tex-mex, preuvian all over. It seems as if the name just changed. The prices are very high for what you get quality wise! The lettuce looks like it comes from a bag and the cheese, not hand cut or freshly hand shredded, the steak for the fajitas looks weird and it was over cooked and tough! $25 for steak and shrimp but got 3 shrimp. What Mexican restaurant doesn't have refined beans??? I've never heard of that! Their definitely needs some house cleaning as well! The ceilings and vents are EXTREMELY DIRTY, working with health department not sure how this would pass, but just a friendly tip can yall get those cleaned! There were alot of flies flying around also, also health department no no!! The bathrooms were clean so that is a postive!!! The server Vivian brought drinks took our order and brought the check!
