Starbucks — Restaurant in Virginia

The building is beautiful but my goodness are they annoying. I have to travel from northern VA to Harrisonburg area or to Richmond every day for work. It’s a different city everyday. I have meetings in the morning from 9am to 12pm. I go to Starbucks everyday Monday through Friday during meetings for a cheese danish, coffee, and tea. Then I go back at the end of my work day for another coffee and cheese danish or sandwich. I order all three about 2 times everyday. I get tons of free merchandise from all of my points.

I was running a bit behind so I sat my computer got on my meeting and kept being approached by a Starbucks employee telling I needed to buy something, minutes after sitting down. I understand if I had been here over an hour but I just got here and have been approached 2 times already. Second time he said, “maybe I wasn’t clear but you have to purchase something before sitting down.”

This is the only Starbucks I have been treated in this way. Ridiculous. I usually come in, sit down, join my meetings, relax, and put my order in between...

My partner and I were passing through on the way to Willamsburg, VA . We needed some strong coffee to wake us up. The service was wonderful. I walked in and immediately started dancing to Carly Rae Jepsen’s Cut to the Feeling and then Blondie’s One Way or Another played. Another customer and I were dancing. I’m from Baton Rouge, LA and have never felt so safe inside a Starbucks! We love this management had a Disability Pride sign on their management message board and an inclusion Pride Flag pinned up on a side wall.

It just nice to know that kind and compassionate folks are still here in the USA.

My partner and I felt at home. We were sad to leave!!!! Before we left, one of the other baristas told me I should like “move”. I laughed and replied, if I didn’t love my new job … I would consider it! LOL. We will remember this location when we come back to King’s Dominion next year. I might have just seen a workplace violence involving your staff. Please review footage from 2035-2042 July 6 2025. Tall black guy curly hair, didnt even give our receipt. He was jumping and visually upset. Our drinks are bland, did not taste like Starbucks. Was he in a hurry to close? Younger girl was working with him I think taking orders smiling but must just be afraid to say anything.

I might be wrong but better to cautious, I have seen passive aggressive behaviors at work and should not be tolerated. If there is no work place violence after investigating, thank you for looking it up and I apologize for wasting your time. He would at least need some customer service training, we did not get treated right. He was obviously in a hurry.
