On a hot humid day after work I had a gelato craving and remembered that Dolce d Leche opened a new location in Ashland, so I decided to give them a call to see what time they close. We used to get their gelato from Framingham, which was their original location. The owner answered the phone and said that he was planning on being open far past their usual closing time and would welcome us for some gelato. I came in with my daughter and ordered what I can truly and honestly say best tasting gelato I’ve had in a very long time. The taste and quality immediately reminded me of some of my favorite gelato places in Italy and to top things off, I found another treat and had to get a double espresso from locally roasted coffee beans. For those who like their coffee - safe your $$$ on airfare to Italy and enjoy a real cup of joe ! The passion and warmth from the conversation with Jules made me realize that small businesses like his are often being pushed to their limits, while trying to stay competitive with bigger chain stores and that our community and friends should continue to support our local stores during these difficult times and beyond. Read moreWe live overseas and called them to order a cake to be delivered to a family member (through doordash) and got wrong items instead. When we requested a refund, we were told to get it from Doordash because it takes them a week to get their money back from Doordash. We offered to wait for a week so they didn’t have to be out of pocket. Today we receive this very rude email saying that they we were “harassing” them and being “ungrateful” and we should pay them 50$ for the “trouble” we are causing them. They’ve refused to give a refund and asked us to collect the cake ourselves if we wanted to. Shocked by their rudeness - we’ve finally asked them to keep the refund and their cake. Never had such an awful customer experience. It’s much less about not getting the birthday cake on time - more the terrible attitude and arrogance toward...
Read moreI visited for the first time to attend a business meeting of about 20 people in the private room. In the way in I purchased a bottle of wine to share and tried a chai truffle which was amazing...just tiny and expensive. We had pre-ordered our meals so there should not have been any excuse that some people were done eating while some still had not received theirs. One person never received hers so had to go request it then eat alone. I got the simple salad with chicken. It was bland at best and the chicken was hard. Perhaps they are not accustomed to hosting business meetings, yet there were at least three people serving us. I will try it again as it is a cute place and the selection of...
