I went there today with my son for a late breakfast and I ordered one of today's special omelets. I had 2 bites and when I cut into the omelet out came egg, cheese, sausage, onions and a food label and bar coding. I politely called the waitress over and asked her to take the plate away, as I suddenly lost my appetite. She said that she would go show my plate to the manager. Now let me say that the label and bar coding was pretty grease soaked and about 50% opaque, so it wasn't something that just dropped on my plate. To her credit, the waitress was extremely apologetic, and said that she would go show my plate to the manager. The manager, however, apparently couldn't have cared less. The manager never appeared. Never offered an apology. The poor waitress had to come with a check - and said "I really thought they would have comped your meal over this, but they only let me take off your meal that had foreign substances in it. I'm very sorry." I did my best to calculate what the full bill would have been and left the waitress 20%, because none of this was in any way, shape or form her fault.
Next call will be to the Ashland Board of Health to report this violation. All of which could have been avoided by a manager who cared about SafeServ guidelines and what is being served to customers.
Either avoid this place, or fully dissect your food...
Read moreFood here is a 5 star deal. Love everything they serve and we have have been eating at this place for almost 6 yrs now. However, my 2 star rating goes to the server lady with glasses who functions per her moods and whims. Always in a rush, and expects people to rush too maybe. Or maybe it’s just our face. Don’t care, cuz I am PAYING for good food and service. We have always ignored and gone past her bad attitude, rough talking, etc. This one time, we were there with our 4 month sleeping baby and sitting right next to the used dishes area, which was noisy as she was constantly dumping them loudly, which is ok. But we wanted to move to a different table, slightly away from that area. When we told her, she laughed, said ‘how is that table different, it’s not far from here, just take your own stuff’! All that with a snooty tone. Not anymore, gave a big $0 tip. Need to save my extra $$ on every such poor...
Read moreA belated shout-out to the manager and staff on duty the morning of Sunday, March 26th. A large group of friends (21) tried finding a breakfast place in Ashland without reservations (I know, I know). A quick call to Sunnyside and we were accepted in under 15 minutes (on a SUNDAY MORNING). Tables were arranged so we could all sit together, and we arrived to fresh coffee, a delightful manager and staff, the turn around was fab, and the food was fantastic. I don't recommend ever showing up with large groups, it's inconsiderate, I know, but wow. Just WOW. Sunnyside has 21 people that will remember that fantastic experience and share your kudos far and wide. Oh, and to the patrons of that other diner we visited and then were told to leave after we were seated, we did call ahead and were told to come in and order - there was a miscommunication between the person who told us to arrive and the...
