I’m out of my coffee at home so I’ve had to stop for it on the way to work early in the morning the last few days. This is the only coffee shop in Ashland so I decided to stop and try the light roast coffee. The first visit I ordered in the drive-through and was told they normally don’t brew the light roast that early and that if I really wanted it I would have to wait. I opted for a medium roast because I wasn’t able to wait that morning. I did mention when I got to the window that I’d be back every morning this week so if they would brew it I would appreciate it, greatly.
The second morning I decided to order through the app so the store could get an advance heads-up to brew the light roast and it worked like a charm. My delicious light roast coffee was ready when I arrived and I tipped the barista to show my appreciation.
This morning I thought I would try the same method, since it worked out perfectly yesterday. I ordered through the app 7 minutes before I arrived, hoping they would brew the coffee when they received the order. Only this morning when I arrived at the drive-through Corbin told me that they normally don’t brew light roast that early and asked if I wanted them to brew it. I’ve worked in the service industry for ten years before so I said “Don’t you think I would want you to brew it when I ordered it?”
“Unfortunately, that’s not how it works” was Corbin’s reply
“Thats how it worked yesterday” was my response. Corbin told me it would be out in five minutes. I waited a few minutes and someone other than Corbin sold me something I assume they thought would pass for fresh light roast coffee, probably an americano or medium roast. Definitely not light roast
Thursday morning crew gets a big thumbs up, had my order perfect, no issues, they’re the only reason this review isn’t one star.
But I saw Corbin Wednesday morning and gave him heads up I’d be back for light roast, and I guess he thought I wasn’t smart enough to tell that I wasn’t drinking light roast this morning.
I won’t be back. Thankfully I’ve got fresh light roasted beans from a small coffee shop in Floyd county on the way. My morning routine won’t be at the mercy of Starbucks and their “normal” brewing...
Read moreI went in to Starbucks mid day Monday afternoon to order a hot Grande l "black & white"Mocchioto W/Almond Milk, no whip & a chocolate drizzle. The young lady at the counter was very nice and attentive. She took my order and to my surprise when I picked my drink up; it was below half a cup! I took the lid off and asked her what it was. She told me it was a shot of espresso with a pump of Almond milk and chocolate drizzle! I told her respectfully that's not a Mocchioto I had ever had and I had never heard of it! She started to get snide and asked "What do you want?" I told her just please make me something with Almond milk , yummy and hot!" By this point I was not trying to get anyone upset, I just wanted a Mocha Mocchioto but I settled for a full Grande cup of extremely burnt coffee flavor with some type of milk that wasn't Almond milk! I'm lactose intolerant so..... I have been going to this location other than one other time, I had never had issues with my order. I get it. People have bad days. That's why I didn't want to upset her or make a big deal about it. The reason I'm editing my review is because, either retrain, don't allow untrained baristas to fill drink orders unless shadowed. The price of coffee or specialty drinks are outrageous! I only treat myself once a week so, I shouldn't settle for an expensive coffee that I could barely swallow.
ordered a Venti "decaffeinated " black & white with almond milk & no whip Mochiato. I didn't pay any attention to the order on the side because it was covered with by a sleeve. It had caffeine, and I'm not supposed to have it due to Digestionional issues. I understand there was a new employee, but they should be shadowed to make sure the drink is what the customer ordered. I've been a Starbucks customer for 25 years and haven't had as much difficulty with my drink orders as these...
Read morewent for a second day in a row. yesterday we needed splash sticks so i ran back in to grab some. they were available on the counter. today we remembered them before we left the store, so my mom, who is almost 82 years old, tried to get someones attention but was ignored. every person walking past wouldn’t even look at her. so she was picking up a couple. now someone wants to notice her, and snaps at her that if she wants them then she should ask next time.
