Fire & Chicken — Restaurant in Ashland

Do not know why we have not stopped by Fire & Chicken, the location at 115 N Washington Hwy, Ashland, VA 23005, before today. Didn't realize it was tucked away where it is in Ashland? Never thought about it? We ordered food from there today and are VERY happy that we did!

We had family coming to visit today and were planning a barbeque with steaks and burgers. But one of the family members doesn't like beef, so we looked around to see where might be a good place to get fried or rotisserie style chicken. Fire & Chicken was mentioned in a lot of posts a very good, very consistent place to get charbroiled chicken, so we gave it a try.

Used their online system to order a whole chicken, and it took about 20 minutes to drive down there. The online ordering and pay system was fast & easy, and the order was waiting for me on the counter upon arrival.

Got back home, fired up the grill, and had platters of steak, burgers and this chicken for our guests. I should have ordered two whole chickens... it was a HUGE hit with the person that doesn't eat beef, and also with everyone else that gave it a try. Really moist and tasty.

We will definitely be back for another helping and will try their other items too....

UPDATE 10/13/23: Unfortunately, I'm having to revise my rating due to a recent bad experience. I ordered a fish bowl as I have many times before. Partially into eating, I realized that the center of the fish was raw. Of course this killed my appetite and I was definitely worried about foodborne illness at the time. I emailed Fire & Chicken about this experience right after it happened, 11 days ago, and never heard back. It is disappointing there was no communication or attempt to resolve the issue (even just a refund for the fish bowl would have been nice). As my previous review below mentions, I was a frequent customer and obviously usually loved their food! After their lack of response, I don't think I'll be back. Previous review: So delicious and great portion sizes! I've had the chicken rice bowls a few times now and definitely will try out some other menu items in the future. Prompt and friendly service, too. Highly recommend this...

PEOPLE: Go try Fire & Chicken ASAP! This place is cranking out PHENOMENAL food!!

My husband and I decided to try Fire & Chicken because we needed a fairly quick dinner and neither of us had been there before. I'm sooo glad we did! Their reviews are outstanding for a reason!

The menu offered so many great options, it was difficult to decide, but I settled on shrimp tacos that absolutely WOWed me! The combination of spices and fresh, crispy veggies and sauces led to flavor utopia! I don't even usually like corn tortillas, but these were perfect! I also really enjoyed their green hot sauce.

My husband got the chicken with rice and green beans, which sounds a little mundane, but each element was executed perfectly. The delicious, tender chicken complemented the lightly steamed beans well. He added their yellow sauce to the rice and it was phenomenal! I can't wait to go back because their menu offered so many other tempting options. 5 stars for...
