I had to discover for myself so I took my mom for brunch. It was around noon on a sunny Sunday with fair weather. We sat on the patio, which was bustling.
The menu has plenty of options drawing from the region, with a couple of seasonal world items like the Korean corn dog. Of the two charcuterie boards (charcuterie board and brunch charcuterie) mom ordered the plain one. I ordered the chicken salad croissant. Two herbal teas.
The board was stacked with swiss, cheddar, Boursin, a whipped cream cheese, apple butter, gherkins, crackers, rye crisps, luscious black grapes, strawberries and a few other things I may have omitted. The croissant was very crisp/moist in that contradictory way that makes food good. I'm betting they cut their own fries--cut like McDonald's but some skin on them. Not seasoned but they have shakers.
I went inside for the restroom. Very urbane black walls make the cottage façade look expansive, cathedral-looking inside. It's also a bookstore which has its wares integrated into the dining area. This would be good for a wheelchair user because there's extra space between tables.
Charming servers, really had a hell of a time. Plan...
Read moreI was very disappointed with the service. My sister and I had lunch here with my two small children (Both 1 Year). Both high chairs were missing straps. Service was very slow although it was not too busy. I was asked if I wanted drinks for my children and after i ordered drinks for them i was told they were out of any cups with lids. We waited at least 45 minutes for our main meal. The waitress told me twice she was getting me a refill on my drink and I never got it. Because it took so long to get our food the children were getting tired and crying. My sister had to hurry and eat her food so she could get back to work. I stayed to pay the bills. My two children continued crying and it was very obvious that I was waiting for the bills. As I sat waiting another 20 minutes, with two crying babies, the waitress was giving every other table their bills and processing their card payments, including tables who came after us, had just gotten their food and still eating, ignoring that I was still waiting for my bills. I ended up being there over an hour. Although the food was good, the service was awful. I do not plan...
Read moreStopped in before a show at the paramount. Ordered breakfast since the entire menu was available. Hard to mess up breakfast but this was a miss. Sausage came out “late” cause it was still being prepared. Bacon wasn’t even cooked. Eggs and potatoes were solid. No time to talk and get managers involved or comped but this should have never been served. Also my 13 dollar old fashioned possibly was an even bigger miss. Skimpy serving size, lack of sweetness and bitters. Will try and catch this place again due to it being local but...
