I have been to this restaurant before and it was great, but my experience last night was absolutely awful and I will never come back again. We came here around 7 PM last night, Saturday, with the expectation that it would probably be a little busy, and it was. Okay, no big deal, we were okay waiting a little bit, as we were with family. We walk in, it's seat yourself. There were open tables and some were dirty, but we picked one and sat down. It took about 20 minutes for anyone to even come over to us, and the waitress went to get a rag to wipe the table off. Took 10 minutes for her to get back, and in between that time, she refilled drinks, took orders, and tended to other customers, all while we hadn't even gotten drinks or menus. When she finally gets back to us, she wipes down the table and disappears. Another 10 minutes later, I got up to go get menus myself, since obviously no one was helping us. The waitress who grabbed those for me said, "Sorry, we'll be right with you". I said okay, I could see they were busy. But what irked me was that two old guys who sat down after us were served drinks AND GOT THEIR FOOD while we were still sitting at an empty table, no drinks, and with menus I actually got up to get myself. My husband started a timer on his phone while we were waiting, and after sitting for 40, YES FORTY, minutes, with both waitresses walking by, tending to other people, and us no drinks, no nothing, we got up to leave. Here's the kicker...as we were pulling out of the parking lot, three people who walked in as we were walking out sat at our table. And wouldn't you know it, they had DRINKS WITHIN MINUTES OF SITTING?! Literally as we were pulling out, I looked over and they had DRINKS on the table. I understand a busy restaurant on a weekend, but we were straight up ignored until I got up for menus, and other than the one lady wiping down our table, no one even bothered to shoot a glance our way. Yet a different group comes in after us and is served immediately. And two people, who were obviously being favored, got their whole meals, within the 40 minute fiasco. Completely. Unacceptable. If you know you're going to be busy, without enough staff able to serve, DO NOT OFFER SEAT YOURSELF?! 40 minutes we wasted and ended up ordering Chinese take out. Didn't even get to eat until almost 9 PM because we sat there waiting, hoping someone would come serve us. What a shame, because we liked this place but I won't go back after that. Hire more servers, or stop the self seating. If you can't handle the customer load, figure it out. You lost business, repeat customers, and great tippers! If you're not old, a regular, or there when it's not busy, I don't recommend you come here. And ESPECIALLY NOT on a weekend. I normally write great reviews, because I love to help a business out, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I want others to know. Take your...
Read moreI normally wouldn't put something like this publicly but I believe it's another one of those people that have no curticy nor class that open their mouth and they show their stupidity. My wife and I use to patrunize a Restaurant in Ashtabula for 10 to 15 years. We ate there almost everyday and sometimes twice a day. 90% of the people there are absolutely fantastic. A few of the waitresses helped my ill wife Sue when she lost her way to the Restroom and back. A few of them would check on her while in the Restoom and a few that would refuse to. We became really close to most of the employees there as well. But...today it was different which also was both degrading, embarrassing it also made my wife Sue cry. As we were headed to our favorite table, the owner stepped in front of us blocking us from our table. He says to us, " The last time your wife was in here, she made a mess in the Restroom and it wasn't appreciated!" I replied to him, " I'm sorry but my wife has a few problems, unfortunately she has Alzheimer's Disease. He replys back to us " this is a Restaurant, not a Nursing Home! " I looked at my wife Sue that had tears in her eyes, let's go somewhere else. "The Owner replys with a rude tone "Thank You! " This took place in the middle of their Dining room as onlookers scratched their heads. A BIG upyours goes to Kardohely's!( I am re posting this because this is unacceptable for a business..my daughter is a server and would never treat a customer that way) she shared this post...
Read moreWent here recently and I wish I could say I had bad service but I had no service at all. They were busy that night (power had went out around the area) and we figured we would be there a while waiting for our food. The waitress only came to our table twice. Once to say “I’ll grab a rag to wash the table” then after going to three other table over the span of 15 minutes she came another time to wipe the table. We never saw her again. We had to get our own menus. We were never asked about our drinks or brought silverware. There was a table directly across from us with two gentlemen at it that got their drink order and food in the 42 minutes we sat there with no help. Other tables that got there after us were brought drinks and menus. I’m diabetic, it had been a long day and at the time my blood sugar was low. We would have likely stayed if we at least got our drink orders put in. Unfortunately we didn’t exist to the staff as no one even said anything as we got up and walked away. Also to note is that 40% of the people that were there had left after completing their meals in the time we sat and waited. We were there with family and because of the situation around the area we could not find anywhere else to have dinner. Last thing I’ll say is that right after we left another family took our spot and while we were driving away we saw them getting served through the window. I would put a zero if I could and I will likely...
