There's a reason that this place is packed on a Saturday night! We were out of town and looking for a restaurant, came across this one and saw the parking lot, thinking it must be worth it. We really loved it here! We walked in and were seated instantly, despite how packed the place was. Homemade tortilla chips appetizer, with salsa and guacamole were so good and plentiful that I forgot to save room and got a little full! Oops! The guacamole had just the right balance of lime! Many flavors of margaritas, some new to me like blueberry! I had strawberry mango and it was delicious!! The size was generous in my opinion! Big goblet glass. My husband had traditional flavor on the rocks, which he was disappointed in...it was very watered down and not flavorful when I tasted it. Still, we shared a second of mine and it was great! The menu is extensive and covers literally all tastes, including more American fare like burger and pizza, though I'm not sure why you would order that here, the Mexican dishes were awesome and so many to choose from! Burritos to choose from, tacos to choose from, including fish tacos! Chimichangas anyone? They have these to choose from, fajitas for two? And more!! I chose the three hard shell beef tacos meal because I was getting full from chips. Let me start with the shells, they were homemade, which definitely made the taco! They had all the goodies on them like tomatoes and lettuce, cheese and cilantro. The side was rice and beans, as you may have guessed, which I piled on my tacos, soo delicious! Too many chips and salsamole made me too full to eat all my plate, the portions were generous. This meal was so great! The atmosphere was nice, everyone seemed to be enjoying everything. There seemed to be enough staff, and our waitress was nice. Prices were right where we expected, $12ish for my three taco plate with generous beans and rice. This was a great experience, can't...
Read moreService was the only good part about this experience. Otherwise, long wait, poor pre-made margarita mix, incorrectly-tangy food, cramped lobby and restaurant.
My friend and I walked in, to a lobby LOADED with groups of people, and put our name on the list for 2 people. I didn’t think to ask how long the wait would be because the couple before us got told “25-30 minutes”. We proceeded to wait outside, mostly(due to no room besides 4 benches), for 1 hour.
Finally, when we were sat, it was a solo table in a cramped little corner, next to the bar were people standing and sitting in the “walkway” to get to our table. We had to sneak behind them with the host to even get to our seat, along with our waitress, each time she brought us something.
She ordered the Grade Nachos, Margarita Dip, and Blue Lagoon 20 oz. Her only complaint was she wasn’t able to drink her margarita because it was straight cheap tequila, little to no blue curaçao. Thankfully, the waitress noticed this and asked if she wanted something different because, since that mix was premade, she wouldn’t be able to fix the flavor. I ordered the veggie burrito with chicken added, one chile relleno, a peach & blackberry margarita, and their BBQ beans. The BBQ beans were simply black beans with your standard bbq sauce, but it was great! The veggie burrito left a lot to be desired with nearly raw, unseasoned veggies and overcooked, dry chicken. My one chile relleno was a poblano pepper the thickness of a simple quesadilla, covered in a thin film of egg mix, and smothered in a red sauce that was nauseously tangy. Lastly, my margarita, a combo of 2 “fresh fruit” flavors, was the same as the blue lagoon, straight cheap tequila, the only thing we could taste. The best part was our waitress, an attentive, nice, and patient person. She was the only good part, besides those...
Read moreIt's a rare occasion that I complain at a restaurant. Even more rare is that I post a complaint. Our experience here was terrible this time. The only saving grace was the food. It was packed. Twenty minute wait wasn't terrible. A little cold but not that bad. We get seated in the bar area after waiting out in the lobby area. Okay, fine. . . People who are waiting for tables begin piling into the bar area. This is also where the waitresses come and go with food. People are three rows deep at the bar and they're bumping tables where other folks are trying to eat. Like my wife and I. I asked the waitress what was going on and why there were so many people and she replied that they're just really busy but something should be done about all the people in the way. The waitresses are constantly trying to squeeze by these folks who act like they're the only ones in the place, flipping their hair into the food as it goes by... Lucky for us we were close enough to the kitchen entrance to avoid the random hair treatment and our food came out follicle free. My macho chimichanga was like I remembered. Well seasoned and crispy. My wife almost enjoyed her fajita chimichanga, but was worried someone was going to knock us over. The place is packed and getting worse. I've finished my meal but my wife is too stressed to finish so we get boxes to go. We pay the waitress and get ready to leave...I can't even get enough room to put my wife's coat on her. There was no way out, except through the kitchen. I walked back that direction and a guy asked if I I needed the bathroom. No, I need a way out. Look at that.. He went and cleared an area for us to get our coats and get out. It was ridiculous and very unprofessional for the staff to allow this type of...
