Walked in here on Tuesday April 25th 2023. Ordered food, waited, grabbed it, left. Got home..it was DISGUSTING I believe they served me something other then Chicken. It was bone dry, unseasoned and worst of all got me and my wife sick! The Tempura Rolls where very bland and tasteless. They charged me $4.50 just for extra chicken? What is going on here people? So after throwing up twice, I called up the restaurant and spoke with an elder Asian woman, she told me there was nothing she could do unless I came back and showed her that I hadn’t eaten all the food, ok so that’s very odd to make someone drive half an hour just to prove that your food is garbage when you know what you served me. SHAME. Anyway I indeed DID go back because at this point I was trying to prove a point and wasn’t gonna get ripped off. So I get there and the older Asian woman (maybe the owner) she signals for me to come to the back area and opens the bag of food. And I told her exactly what I just wrote the chicken was dry and got me and my wife sick..tempura was bland…she acted ASTONISHED like she had never gotten a complaint before? She refused to refund my money, then started shouting at me! She only wanted to give me a partial refund, I then was very frustrated and became stern with her. I told her “I want a FULL REFUND do you understand that” she then proceeded to tell me never to come back to her restaurant again, that I wasn’t welcome, after all that the “cash register” suddenly had issues so I had to wait 20min for her to process my return, she finally gave up and said “let’s try another computer” then my refund went thru right away. The problem with the refund is it WASNT a full refund! She deducted the value of my drink because I didn’t present it to her? This place is freakin TERRIBLE AND DISGUSTING. I’d avoid it like COVID-19. Go to Sarku Japan in Aspen Hill for better food and service. **UPDATE** read the owners response, and am extremely unimpressed. Nothing was offered to rectify the situation. Food continues to be disgusting, just because you write a heavily worded response doesn’t make you right by any means. What happened to customer service? This was the most frustrating, inconsiderate event that has ever happened to me and I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for years. There’s no way you can try to quiet the truth. I still haven’t received my full refund for anyone keeping up. This establishment has caused me mental and physical trauma. I appreciate the apology after the heavily worded “screw you” but no thanks. I really wish you guys the best but this isn’t your forte.

Ordered here last night, got the steak and chicken hibachi and some sushi. Here is my good and bad: The good: 1. The price is very affordable. 2. The selection is very extensive. Lots of hibachi combinations and sushi offerings. 3. The California roll was fresh and flavorful. 4. The hibachi steak and rice was delicious. 5. Big portions! The bad: 1. The presentation of the hibachi needs improvement. Dumping all the ingredients into one box is a messy way to eat. I recommend putting the hibachi meal in a bento style box or plate where the ingredients are separated. 2. The chicken in the hibachi was dry, over cooked. Maybe if the pieces were cut bigger it wouldn't be a problem. 3. The yum yum sauce has too much mayonnaise flavor. Needs more tanginess flavor. Maybe try making it homemade. Thank you!

For me, Fuji Japan isn't quite authentic Japanese restaurant. it's kinda fast food in Japanese version. Mostly, their menu have Sushi and Hibachi. (No Ramen/Udon noodle or Donburi/Curry rice bowl) I never have Sushi yet, so I can't say anything about that but I can say they have many choices of Sushi for you. I only had Bento box and Hibachi here. I think they all were good one as standard. They might not really perfect but it is enough to enjoy the food. As for ambient and service are okay. There are some dining-in seats but decorative inside is not really feel like Japanese atmosphere. Anyway, overall it is still a good place to get some taste of Japanese food if you aren't overthinking of details.

For me, Fuji Japan isn't quite authentic Japanese restaurant. it's kinda fast food in Japanese version. Mostly, their menu have Sushi and Hibachi. (No Ramen/Udon noodle or Donburi/Curry rice bowl) I never have Sushi yet, so I can't say anything about that but I can say they have many choices of Sushi for you. I only had Bento box and Hibachi here. I think they all were good one as standard. They might not really perfect but it is enough to enjoy the food. As for ambient and service are okay. There are some dining-in seats but decorative inside is not really feel like Japanese atmosphere. Anyway, overall it is still a good place to get some taste of Japanese food if you aren't overthinking of details.

I just tried to order via phone and specifically said I want to order from the lunch specials. It was 2:55 pm when I called and the lunch specials end at 3 pm. The women who took our order made sure to stall time for every order that we wanted. She wanted to make sure they made avocado cucumber rolls. She proceeded to that with the salmon skin roll, sweet potatoes roll and shrimp tempura rolls. All these things are on their menu and you would think as someone who takes orders all the time you’d be familiar with the menu. By the time she was done taking our order, it was 3pm. She gave us our total and we confirmed the price. The price didn’t include the lunch special and she said that it wasn’t available anymore. The first thing we told her when she was taking our order was that we wanted the lunch special. This is so shady!
