We had an afternoon meal at this location (Aston, PA) a few days before last Christmas, and in the business of reconnecting with relatives, my wife left her purse (with wallet) at this location. Due to our travels and holiday visits, we didn't know she was missing her purse until 3 days later. When we finally called this restaurant, the manager informed us that they had already destroyed personal ID documents and artifacts (driver's license, credit cards, any cards with owner's name, etc.) per company policy, but the purse was ready for pickup. The person explained that the corporate policy was to shred all personal documents after 48-hour period. Because we live in another state, we asked our relatives to pick up the purse and mail it to us. When our relatives when to the restaurant, the purse and wallet were both completely empty. We had cash (about $100 total), a brand new visa gift card (birthday gift for my wife), Panera/Starbucks gift cards with balances, and gift cards to health spa in our town (worth $60). My wife also had prescription medication in her purse. All the items in her purse were shredded and discarded, per manager. This is totally ridiculous. Why would anyone shred cash, gift cards without any identifiable names and prescription medication? We had follow up communication with the corporate representatives, and asked for a copy of the corporate policy, which they refused. Also, they could not let us know exactly what was shredded and other details. Furthermore, they could not reimburse us for any of the lost items since there is no proof of such contents in the purse. Our friends and family were shocked to hear about this policy at Applebees. When I checked with both Chick-fil-A manager, he stated that their corporate policy is to hold personal items in the safe for up to a month, and then donate any items that would not lead to ID theft. Panera Bread has similar policy. It seems to me that Applebees must have problems with employees/managers who have integrity like their competition (Chick-fil-A and Panera Bread). If you’re going to Applebees, don’t leave any personal...
Read moreFirst of all, we love going to Applebees. We have 2 small kids, and I work late, so when we want to go out to eat, we choose Applebees often, because it's so close to the house. Last night, we had several issues, and while it won't stop us from returning, we are going to pause and let some time go by before visiting again.
My wife's chicken/rice meal was undercooked and she didn't eat it. The rice also was still hard. We were still charged for it, and the waitress had to be asked to take it off the bill. We asked for a blue raspberry lemonade in a kids cup with no ice for my daughter. A regular Pepsi brand lemonade in a tall plastic cup came. The waitress first fixed it by bringing a regular Pepsi brand lemonade in a kids cup. It took 3 times to be understood that we were ordering a blue raspberry lemonade, and that of course, should be....blue. 2 appetizers took 45 minutes to come to the table. My oldest daughter (7) had to ask where her meal was several times before it came. My dinner (chicken/shrimp) was very hot in some areas, and warm in others. Was this microwaved? The waitress brought boxes when we didn't ask for boxes.
The restaurant was not crowded last night. I'd say it was 20% filled. This wasn't because they were overwhelmed, it was just lack of organization and caring and listening. My hope is that the management team sees this, and brings the team together to tighten...
Read morePlaced a curbside pickup order at 5:36 for pickup at 630. Got there 627, food came out 637, no big deal it was 4 people ahead of me waiting for pickup. Got home, kids meal had no milk and food was barely lukewarm. My cheeseburger was tasty but you could see the cheese had been resolidifying since it wasn't hot. Thank goodness i got a baked potato that was the only thing close to eating temperature (usually they come out MUCH too hot to eat but it was cooling for 45 minutes so it was just right). It was obvious they ignored the pickup time and just left everything sitting out for quite some time after cooking it immediately after i ordered. Hopefully no food poisoning. Usually we eat inside but kid wasn't feeling well so i did takeout. Very disappointed father's day dinner. I'll have to remember to not do curbside for a future pickup time and check carefully that we got everything. $5 for 5 tablespoons of mac and cheese and an applesauce, you could at least make sure to include the 50 cents of milk that comes with a kid's meal! Oh and i pre tipped 15%... for a TAKEOUT order so that doesn't explain...
