Here's a review of a local coffee house bistro:
5++ out of 5 stars ⭐️
I had the pleasure of visiting the Astoria Coffeehouse & Bistro in downtown Astoria. I was thoroughly impressed with the vibes, energy and variety of pastries, including gluten-free options. It felt so warm and welcoming of an atmosphere to enjoy a meal or just a cup of your favorite coffee. The decor was a mix of modern, artsy and internationally acquired pieces. So many different seating areas were available from dark and cozy to warm with plenty of natural light.
They have multiple menu boards to satisfy the daily drip coffee drinker or even the most advanced hot elixir conneseur. Large jugs of fresh water are stationed as soon as you step through the door. And if you’re a bit more adventurous, they also have a chic bar to the left of the service counter. Bar seating is available to enjoy a good conversation with the bartender.
The coffee was top-notch, with a wide variety of flavors and brewing methods to choose from. I opted for my usual drip coffee with cinnamon, cayenne pepper and honey. This is one of the few places that offer that combination of spices to lift the Samurai foodie’s spirit.
The pastry selection was also impressive, with delicious chocolate/almond/ regular croissants, assorted macaroons, muffins and scones. You can even find freshly baked cookies and massive slices of chocolate, carrot or almond cake. It was great to also find many of the pastries were offered with a gluten-free option.
But what really sets this coffee house apart is the bistro menu. I ordered the biscuits & gravy ($10.95) and added a Bacon/egg sanwhich ($6.95). My order came with huge pair of wholesome biscuits from Table 360 Bakery & Bistro and a generous portion of gravy, Yum😋!! My sandwich was stuffed with thick, crispy, smokey bacon, melted cheese and fluffy scrambled eggs. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food and drink.
I highly recommend you to visit them for a relaxing coffee break or a deliciously satisfying meal. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 💫

Read moreWe always stopped here when we drive through the Oregon coast. I always looked forward to the burger and the atmosphere of the small and cozy place. Stopped in a few days ago and disappointed how the customer service has declined .There is no order when you enter the restaurant. There's a pad to sign your name but no one was in charge except the waitress .Wait time was about 10 min. No big deal. We are seated and given menus for breakfast .It's 11:25 and we tell the waitress, we would like the lunch menu. She says we'll it doesn't start till 11:30 .My wife says it's a few minutes away. The waitress looks annoyed and says ok, I'll bring the lunch menu .Pretty sure she was upset because she was the only server. I understand that but you're still providing customer service .Got our menus and no water for the kids. We are sitting there about 10 minutes now starting at the menu and parched beyond belief. The waitress walks by and still no eye contact. We finally get our water and decide what we want for lunch. She walk by numerous times, not acknowledging our presence. We notice other diners getting up and stealing silverware off other tables because they didn't feel like eating with their hands and who knew when she would visit their table again. After sitting for 15 minutes, we tell her we are ready. She walks by and put her hand up and says, just wait, I'm coming right back. Geez. I work in customer service and it's not rocket science. If you're late or behind, inform your customers and let them know what the situation is. We get our order and the food was decent but add the bad service, it wasn't worth it. The youngest one was getting antsy so we leave the table and sit outside. I decide to get a coffee. Their coffee of the day is cheaper than the rest of the selections. I ask for an ice coffee of the day .16oz their price on the board. $2.50 .I get charged $3.75. Wow. No point in saying she made a mistake because the she too.didnt look like she wanted to be there. I get my overpriced coffee and we are heading out. Wife grabs the receipt and says we got overcharged for an additional meal. She makes her way to tell the barista since our waitress has disappeared. She informs the barista there's an error, "well ill just scratch it off" ... Geez, no oops, we made an error.. None of the staff appeared like they wanted to work there and their actions came through. Considering how much they charge for their food, it's really not worth it if the customer service isn't there. We won't be coming back. Shame because when it was smaller and they didn't promote local, the service and food...
Read moreWhile in with my medical k9 on vacation, we experienced massive amounts of discrimination, turned into harassment, turned into a criminal act by the employee for kicking my service k9 after reporting her for making a discriminatory comment towards my service k9.
While speaking with the owner who was in house, another customer was allowed by all staff to harass me further, and then while waiting for police to file criminal charges for the ORS 167.352 statute violation against my medical k9.
Furthermore, while waiting for police still, I went in to by a water so I could take emergency seizure medication, I attempted to still tip the bartender for my glass of water, and I was met with further harassment and was told I had to get change myself, after explaining I’m disabled and asked for assistance, which is appropriate under the ADA guidelines all businesses and public access places must abide by.
Lastly, a drunk customer continued to film my 3 month old daughter, my wife, and myself repeatedly, and continued interjecting herself into a situation that was supposed to be myself and management.
This was all directly allowed by staff and the owner, and I had to be taken to hospital where I later suffered a medical situation and had documented seizures, that was previously explained that due to head trauma and TBI injuries, that stress from harassment would trigger a medical episode.
Police reports were filed and it is being looked at by the district attorney, my lawyers have already been notified and will be pursuing legal action against this establishment for the failure to respect federal and state laws and guidelines.
An ADA complaint and business complaint will be filed also to ensure this business learns to ensure disabled customers are safe in their establishment, and that discrimination and harassment will not be tolerated from any person or business in any city or state.
Again the Oregon statute for this is ORS 167.352, making it a criminal act to intentionally interfere, distract, or discriminate or harm any service k9 out working in public.
The Class A misdemeanor will be pursued against the employee, and every resource that holds these situations accountable will be brought against these individuals and the business that took part in this very unsatisfactory visit to their...
