Surf 2 Soul has been the best thing I've eaten during my time in Astoria, OR. This unassuming food cart on the corner has food that will definitely feed your soul. So much, that i came back regularly to try the menu (or at least, most of it). 1st dish: PO BOY: The sandwich is hefty filling with fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers (that are pickled?) which pairs with the perfect amt of breaded shrimp that makes this fried dish feel light. I thought I had to add fries but it comes with it with ketchup and more shrimp. Hot sauce is available and gives it a kick if you like spicy. When sitting at the table, I could hear fries being cut- steak fries with humble looks but good for your soul. 2nd dish: Chicken 'n a biscuit: Heavy, hearty. It's fried chicken, almost like a chicken fried steak, and a cheese biscuit covered in gravy. It was the perfect amount of salt as it leaves room for you to add hot sauce. The only sad part is that the biscuit was too flaky (?) so it couldn't stay with the chicken/gravy on the fork to get the perfect bite consistently. 3rd dish: Stacked mac and cheese: According to Jordan, this is the most popular item that it has its own zip code... and I can see why. It's covered in cheese sauce with green onions (optional) on top. I would order pickles/cucumbers to break up all the cheese. Listen to Jordan and don't eat the whole thing or even 1/3rd of it if you want to be productive, haha. 4th dish: Crab Cake Po Boy- I thought this was good but I liked the shrimp better, may just be preference. The crab cakes aren't little tiny discs but a good size filled with meat, not just a bunch of filler. I'm so pleased to have found this food cart with quality food that doesn't make you al a carte every single item to rack up the bill and provides full, delicious, and satisfying meals. I found Jordan on this Google page and he is as friendly as they say. Thanks for feeding me esp on my days off which I attribute to avoiding having food sell out! If you're in town, passing by, this is the place you definitely should not miss as this cart deserves every success that comes their way! GREAT JOB!

Ordered a rice and red bean burger, fries, hush puppies and my girlfriend ordered chicken and waffles. The challenge with red beans and rice as a burger, is you gotta come up with the flavor. And oh my goodness, the flavor is amazing! Salt, sweet, crunch, avocado, hot bread, stretchy cheese, with a wild pickle punch in hidden bites! The fries are natural cut, seasoned, and not. I repeat, not soggy! They were firm, had a good crunch, I didn’t even need the ketchup that came with it. I wasn’t able to eat the whole thing, and it made for a great dinner as well. (It reheats well) The hush puppies with the honey butter… it was like eating an apple fritter inside a hush puppy. Truly a great twist on a southern classic Please give this place a try, anything and everything on the menu I’m sure is amazing. I mean, if you can make a red beans and rice burger taste that amazing. You can’t go wrong with anything at this place.

Oh man, this was an absolutely delicious food cart. I stopped into Astoria and needed a quick bite before I departed after a drone shoot. I saw the 'Stacked Mac & Cheese" reviews on Google and had to give it a try, as i've been known to be a Mac & Cheese snob. I usually don't hit up food carts, but I had the faith in the reviews, and had to pursue what my stomach was calling me to... Insanely good. The Mac & Cheese was extremely creamy, the chicken had a perfectly crunchy texture, and it was cut into reasonable sized strips that weren't too big nor too small. But the best part, was the portion size. After eating what felt like a mountain of food, I barely chipped away at it and had some for later after the drive back to Portland! On the drive home I actually pulled over multiple times to take some bites because I was already hooked. Jordan is talented at what he does. Thank you. I'll be back!

My review of an award winning local entrepreneur with an established food truck

5+ out of 5 stars ⭐️

My search for a soulful menu led me to the Surf 2 Soul food truck, located in the heart of downtown Astoria, Oregon. I wasn’t prepared for the magically delicious plates I would experience.

A quick glance at the menu and words like “stacked” and “cheesy” gave the Samurai foodie the impression that my tastebuds would be greatly rewarded.

I ordered the “Cornmeal breaded shrimp with Cheesy grits” ($13) and “Stacked Mac” (Cajun-spiced Mac and cheese with fried chicken, bacon and scallions $17) Believe me when I say that the flavors are amazing and the portions here are huge! The spices danced around my mouth and the crunchy batter filled my ears with a symphony I had never experienced from a food truck.

Further research into this entrepreneurs history revealed he is the recipient of 2023 Iron Chefs People Choice award!!No wonder everything I saw coming out looked like it was made with skill and love ❤️.

This award-winning Chef knows exactly how to capture the attention and hearts of his customers.

Highlights: Friendly service Big portions Great prices Location Cajun flavors

Recommendations: Stacked Mac Shrimp and Cheesy grits Fried pickles Apple Hushpuppies Chicken ‘n’ the biscuit

Will I return? You bet your grits I will!

Located at the corner of 11th street and...

I drive 4 hours to get to this amazing food truck. I living in WA I have been coming here since I was 20 I'm 26 now and this is still by far my favorite place to eat ever. I hated grits my entire life.. until I had the cheesy shrimp grits! The stacked Mac is phenomenal and don't get me started on them hush puppies. I do prefer the old butter though. It seems different the last two times.. but I still like it! The owner is very nice, and respectful. HUGE PORTIONS. I'm a hardcore Mary Jane user so I love places that truly are generous and this place.. my God y'all are phenomenal. Thank you a million times. Prices may be high to some but I'd pay any amount of money for this food and IMO the prices are perfect.. I plan on continuing to come here as much as I can every year. Y'all can take all my money any day any time. I appreciate this food truck so much I have never had better service, portions, or food from...
