We have been coming to Ft. George Brewery for over a year and have yet to have a bad experience! The beer selection and quality is top notch. The pizza is the best I've had in this area. I used to own a couple pizza places years ago, so I'm a little picky about my pie. The crust is so delicious! The have great gourmet flavors and topping, or you can be boring and get cheese or pepperoni. It's not cheap, but what is these days? Plan on spending $19-$23 for a healthy 12", or right around $30 for a 16". The great thing about the 16" is you can order half and half, so you're able to try 2 different pizzas. Pizza is only available upstairs. The downstairs is for burgers and fried goods like fish & chips or chicken strips. I've had 3 of their different burgers and loved each one. The poutine fries are so tasty! The appetizer is enough to stuff you. But you can also upgrade your fries to poutine when ordering a burger! Staff is always friendly! Just the other day, my wife spilled her beer and broke the glass within 2 minutes of sitting down. They had her a fresh beer and cleaned the table and floor within minutes. If you like dark beers, get the Cavatica stout! It's 8.8% of pure dark bliss! My wife loves their hazy 3-way IPA and also Vortex IPA. Plan to spend about $55-$65 for 2 people if you have a couple pints each with your dinner. Food prices are ridiculous everywhere, but especially in a coastal tourist town. Parking will be interesting on the weekends for sure in the summer. Just know that most streets in downtown Astoria one-way and it's all parallel parking. So don't forget to apply your parking brake and be prepared to walk a couple blocks. Sunday early afternoon is probably the busiest in the summer because of the Sunday market. If you come between Labor Day and Memorial Day, there won't be much of a wait and parking will be much easier.

Vast, welcoming public space for gathering to meet friends, grab a bite and a brew (or other tasty beverage), and kill some time on a lazy afternoon. Our impromptu Sunday visit to Astoria had us wandering around the downtown area, browsing shops, nibbling some delicious fish and chips (from you know where), and eventually parking our tired selves here for a drink, before the long, winding drive back to Portland. A helpful menu, in both the seating area, as well as above the bar, lists the current rotation of brews; in our case, February was Stout Month, which my wife was happy to hear, as she was looking forward to an Oatmeal Stout, which was readily available. She ended up ordering a tasting flight of four, only one of which she wasn't fond of; the rest fit the bill nicely. Being a bigger fan of the harder liquors, I ordered a bourbon mule, which was ice cold and refreshing; exactly what was needed after hours of walking and shopping. Although we were full up from said nearby fish and chips, we couldn't help but ogle the massive, hearty, delicious-looking burgers, pizzas and other pub fare being served to nearby tables. Having satisfied my objective of (finally!) dining at Bowpickers, I am now free to eat elsewhere in Astoria upon our next return visit, and I have my sights set squarely on Fort George, here! With plenty of space to host even the largest of crowds (and that's said without having checked out the upper floor!), Fort George Public House is worthy of its namesake's name, serving as a bastion of reprieve for the weary, thirsty, and hungry traveler, local and tourist alike. Very recommended!

3rd entry: business has leveled out and the kitchen is coordinated now! I highly recommend getting a reservation for upstairs (pizza). Downstairs (pub food) often runs out of tables but you can eat outside or in the Lovell room (cold). Downstairs doesn't take reservations. ***UPSTAIRS OPENS AT 12!!!*** Downstairs opens at 11 so there's no way to reflect this in the hours listed here on Google maps. -------- Update: this place is now so popular it's almost impossible to eat here anymore. They've tried to expand, but especially upstairs, they're unable to coordinate the flow of food out of the kitchen. We've been waiting 50 minutes now for 2 kids' pizzas and 2 salads, and half the restaurant has emptied out as can be seen in my photos. We probably won't be back. The shift leader did end up not charging us for our meal, but I suspect the kitchen messed up and somehow forgot us because by the time we got our food, almost everyone else in the restaurant had left. We have to drive 2.5 hours to get to Astoria, so we don't have a lot of time to see the town before we have to drive back home. To have wasted an hour sitting and waiting for our food REALLY ticked us off. Clearly our ticket got skipped and nobody would even admit it. ----------- A lively, fun place. Pub downstairs, new pizza place now upstairs. The albacore sandwich they used to have was my husband's favorite meal in town. Now it's cod and that's unfortunately a big downgrade! But it's still a fun place to have a beer.

I wanted a burger and was told I would have to go downstairs to get it no waitress or ordering from my chair. I would have to wait for it because they wouldn’t call me or nothing. Some of us wanted pizza others burgers. I can’t walk well and the stairs are out of question since I am handicapped and my waitress offered me no options, in fact she kinda made it a rough spot after I asked and I really still don’t understand except this place has never introduced a system way to move food from downstairs to upstairs. Truthfully the pizza is very sweet and I have never liked it. The chowder was good but not my preference. Waitress wore a tank top so did all the other lady overweight waitress. That’s kinda gross…. Plus they wouldn’t clear off our table and came AFTER dinner to refill and check on us. Ft. George has gotten to big for it pants and my money will go to any other local brewery now. It happens at all these places now a days. They just get to big to manage. Such a shame because it use to be great. Super sad about not getting a burger today. Our waitress couldn’t offer more realistic opportunities for me to get a burger. Except she said 3 times she would gladly let us go eat elsewhere! WoW Ft. Gorge so big for your pants you just don’t even care if and inviting us to leave! Disgusting…..actually, done here.

update September 2024: New personnel, new recipes, better times. Food is much better now. Still a lack of vegetarian options at the downstairs bar though. I hope they'll add options at some point. update December 2022: upstairs not open yet and had to wait 15 minutes in line to just get a question answered. No vegetarian burger options downstairs!! I'll go eat elsewhere!!! earlier in the year: We've been here many times but learned only just now that we're paying $8 for a cider!???? Geez! Need a 2nd mortgage to have a night out here :-( We tried the Black Forest pizza. It made my wife sick. She puked like I've never seen before and she got diarrhea too. Her body did everything it could to expel this pizza 🤢 Maybe she's becoming allergic to some of the wild mushrooms? Not sure. Beware! My intestines were not happy either! We've tried all 3 cheesecakes on their menu too. The carrot cheesecake was probably the best one. They're sourced from a local renowned baker but they could just as well come from a big box store. Not very good and your body will hate you for eating them. Skip them if you love life.
