We have been coming to Ft. George Brewery for over a year and have yet to have a bad experience! The beer selection and quality is top notch. The pizza is the best I've had in this area. I used to own a couple pizza places years ago, so I'm a little picky about my pie. The crust is so delicious! The have great gourmet flavors and topping, or you can be boring and get cheese or pepperoni. It's not cheap, but what is these days? Plan on spending $19-$23 for a healthy 12", or right around $30 for a 16". The great thing about the 16" is you can order half and half, so you're able to try 2 different pizzas. Pizza is only available upstairs. The downstairs is for burgers and fried goods like fish & chips or chicken strips. I've had 3 of their different burgers and loved each one. The poutine fries are so tasty! The appetizer is enough to stuff you. But you can also upgrade your fries to poutine when ordering a burger! Staff is always friendly! Just the other day, my wife spilled her beer and broke the glass within 2 minutes of sitting down. They had her a fresh beer and cleaned the table and floor within minutes. If you like dark beers, get the Cavatica stout! It's 8.8% of pure dark bliss! My wife loves their hazy 3-way IPA and also Vortex IPA. Plan to spend about $55-$65 for 2 people if you have a couple pints each with your dinner. Food prices are ridiculous everywhere, but especially in a coastal tourist town. Parking will be interesting on the weekends for sure in the summer. Just know that most streets in downtown Astoria one-way and it's all parallel parking. So don't forget to apply your parking brake and be prepared to walk a couple blocks. Sunday early afternoon is probably the busiest in the summer because of the Sunday market. If you come between Labor Day and Memorial Day, there won't be much of a wait and parking will be...

Our impromptu Sunday visit to Astoria had us wandering around the downtown area, browsing shops, nibbling some delicious fish and chips (from you know where), and eventually parking our tired selves here for a drink, before the long, winding drive back to Portland.
A helpful menu, in both the seating area, as well as above the bar, lists the current rotation of brews; in our case, February was Stout Month, which my wife was happy to hear, as she was looking forward to an Oatmeal Stout, which was readily available. She ended up ordering a tasting flight of four, only one of which she wasn't fond of; the rest fit the bill nicely. Being a bigger fan of the harder liquors, I ordered a bourbon mule, which was ice cold and refreshing; exactly what was needed after hours of walking and shopping.
Although we were full up from said nearby fish and chips, we couldn't help but ogle the massive, hearty, delicious-looking burgers, pizzas and other pub fare being served to nearby tables. Having satisfied my objective of (finally!) dining at Bowpickers, I am now free to eat elsewhere in Astoria upon our next return visit, and I have my sights set squarely on Fort George, here!
With plenty of space to host even the largest of crowds (and that's said without having checked out the upper floor!), Fort George Public House is worthy of its namesake's name, serving as a bastion of reprieve for the weary, thirsty, and hungry traveler, local and tourist alike. Very...

It is a pretty great space, awesome windows and an amazing large patio in the summer. They also have a handy text page system for when your table is ready so you can enjoy the town or have a beer upstairs. Bar seating however is sometimes part of their reservation and seating system so don't assume you can just plop down at the bar while you wait.
The food is perfectly fine and the servers are nice. Our waitress forgot to put in half our order and did what she could within her means to fix the hour wait half of our table had for their food but in the end didn't comp anything or make any extra effort to make up for the mistake.
A pretty standard 3 star. Happy to go there anytime as it's easy and offers variety for a large group.
This last visit we had several menu items listed and reviewed below: Poutine: was more gravy than fries or cheese. It was an amazing saucy and bacon montage but not anything particularly note worthy. Would like more fry and more curd. Buddy Rich Salad: Not super heavy on the beats and not the most flavorful combination of ingredients but overall acceptable. Fried Pickles: they're fried, come on, of course they're good. Make sure to get dipping sauces you love. House Fries: are wonderful, a good salty crispy fried mix. Love. Filthy Burger: not as pulled pork messy saucy as my friend had hoped but a great flavor. Fish and Chips: Maybe the best plate of the night. Super authentic and just really well done...
