We had been to 2 different jewelers in the area, the first for sizing & polish on a men's ring. We were very disappointed with the polish process as it covered up some of the detail coloring on the ring. The 2nd time was for prong repair on a women's wedding ring. One prong needed the tip replaced, however when we picked the ring up, the jeweler informed us that they had replaced all 6 prongs instead of just the one needing fixed & they hadn't bothered to call before doing this to ask us or let us know. But the ring seemed fine & we were happy to have it back. However, just a few months later, the entire "repair" fell out, this included the main diamond, so prongs, diamond & all...just gone! I've had my ring over 25 years...I was devestated! After an intensive search for the diamond & setting, we came to terms with the fact that it was gone for good. So we researched several local jewelry stores & decided to start with Holly McHone Jewelers. We went it just to see if the ring could be repaired or if it was time to simply replace it. We explained what had happened, asked alot of questions & talked over our options. They were confident that they could meet our high expectations. There was no high-pressure sales pitch, we really appreciated that. We looked at some diamonds that were already in the storr & found one we really liked, however they were willing to order us whatever we wanted. There was a complete explanation of how the ring would be repaired & how the new diamond would be set. We left the store confident that we had chosen the right people for the job, so much so that we returned the following day with 2 other rings needing sized. They gave us a date for all 3 rings to be completed, so we were pleasantly surprised when they called almost a week early to let us know our sized rings were ready. While we were picking those up, they told us the wedding ring would also be ready later that day. The sizing on the 2 rings was perfect & they were able to correct the previous polish on the men's ring so it was back to it's original coloring. When we picked up the wedding ring, it was amazing! It's a unique, beautiful ring anyhow, but the new setting & diamond made it absolutely stunning! When we originally walked in to Holly McHone Jewelers, we did so with the idea that we were just going to talk to them, see what they could do, then go to the next jeweler on our list until we found one we were comfortable with. My fiancé, Louis, and I worked with the team at Holly McHone Jewelers to create our engagement rings together, and cannot speak highly enough of the experience! From our first visit to picking up the rings, we immediately appreciated how engaged and invested in our journey their team was, especially Sheila, who we worked with throughout. We came in with some ideas of the rings we wanted to create, but for both of us, this was the first time purchasing high quality jewelry, let alone working to create pieces together and it was more than a little daunting. Sheila helped our ideas find their footing and was so incredibly informative and patient throughout, from hearing us out on every detail and guiding our vision forward to offering new ideas and solutions when any of concerns or preferences popped up. Louis’ design was fully custom and made inhouse, mine took an existing band and Sheila’s expertise to source my center stone and then turquoise for both Louis and I’s rings, and the experience creating both was phenomenal.

We don’t make it into Astoria too often, and Sheila was fantastic about working with us to ensure we had stones to look at on the dates we were in town, and was also able to text us with questions/information/updates so that we were always informed. She was also very respectful of and communicative about our budget, and we were happy to see that the final price for both pieces was well within the range we talked about. When we threw a curveball and let Sheila know that we were taking our engagement photos, with just under a month’s advance notice, we had made our peace that we might not have both or either of the rings ready in time. The team at Holly McHone’s worked a not insignificant miracle and had both of our rings ready for us in the afternoon for our sunset photoshoot, with Louis’ ring then being ready almost a full month early, which was absolutely beyond belief.

Both my Louis and I are over the moon with our rings - they fit us far and away so much more than any we had tried on or looked at previously. Creating and selecting our rings together was already a very intentional part of our story together, and we both agree that the overwhelmingly positive experience that we had with Sheila and the Holly McHone Jewlers team made it all the more happy and sweet, and adds that much more to the story...

My fiancé and I are very fond of the Oregon coast and wanted to get our wedding bands from there as a sentimental nod. We wanted simple wedding bands and decided to head down to the coast one weekend specifically to find our wedding bands. I had scouted out several different shops for our trip but when we got there we just weren't seeing anything that spoke to us. Enter- a little bit of fate, a soft recommendation from another shop, and Holly. We walked in to Holly McHone Jewelers not knowing what to expect and were immediately greeted by Heather, who patiently listened to what we needed and pointed us in the direction of what we were looking for. After a bit of perusing we both found wedding bands that really spoke to us. Heather and Holly took us through the whole process from start to finish with so much consideration and kindness that when we left we really felt like we were on cloud 9 for having had such a great experience and finding "our" rings. It's not often that you really connect with folks at random and both Heather and Holly were just so personable and considerate that it made it easy to find what we were looking for amongst her great selection of rings. Since we weren't able to get those exact bands in the time frame that we needed, Holly stepped in and said if that were the case should could craft them for us. One to two weeks later, we received a lovely package from Holly and inside were two beautiful hand crafted rings that far surpassed our expectations. I mean, after we fell in love with the in-store rings, the fact that she managed to craft something identical and arguably more subtly intricate and beautiful really speaks to her skill.
