Last nigh was the worst experience ever in front of kids here at Blind Pig on Atlanta Hwy. We arrive a hour before closing to eat outside. We noticed a group of girls we knew from church who had been already seated. As we approach their table to speak, we sat down at the table next to them. They had mentioned they was told before we got there that if it’s a party 6 then 18% of goes toward waiter. At the moment, there was two young ladies waiting on other friends to come join them. My family and I went inside to get seated, the waiter refused to seat us far from the group. We respectfully told her we was not with the party. We paying for our table tip only. She told us that we couldn’t talk to them or we would be all on one the same ticket as a party group. So I didn’t say anything else to the young ladies even though we placed ourselves two tables away with our backs turn. The waiter went to get the manager for help on the situation after we thought she resolved the situation. He approached the table like we was a problem and asked us to leave or he was going to call the police because we was being disrespectful and rude. I never raised my voice or disrespect their policy. The young ladies told him that we was not with them. He told them to not talk to us and stay out of it. I ask him for his name. Ne said he was going to call the police. He didn’t want to give it to me instead he ask why and walk off to the back in the kitchen. He never came back. He left me standing at the bar knowing my mom md kids was outside waiting on someone to explain why we’re getting treated like animals. I found the waiter and ask her what did she tell him. She said she dont have anything to do with this and turned her head. My mom blood pressure was going up and my kids was getting scared. They was hungry and confused. We left due to embarrassment and discrimination. This place has been my favorite since a small child. I will never...
Read moreI absolutely love coming to eat at The Blind Pig (West side). I try to come often, but usually come with some of my family on the weekend to watch the game. I have been to the other locations plenty of times, but this one has so much more welcoming vibes. This location offers plenty seating (outdoor and indoor), a larger bar area, and it always seems to be fairly clean! The staff is always super friendly, and the food comes out fast and fresh. I try to come to Blind Pig every week or two, and I am excited when I am closer to this location and this gets to be my stop. This is a great place for groups of friends or families, especially on game day!
EDIT: While I still love coming here, there are a few complaints that have surfaced. 1.) it seems like the air rarely, if ever works. I have eaten here in the middle of summer, with no A/C. We attended this past Saturday for the UGA game; and it was cooler outside, than it was inside. This seems to be an issue. 2.) The TV situation should be improved. There are plenty of TV’s, however unless you are sitting fairly close to them, it is hard to see what is going on. The TV’s over the bar are perfect, however the ones in the dining room should be increased in size. When you sit by the windows, where the old rolling doors are, it’s nearly impossible to see and read the TV’s, from most of the tables. In addition, a couple of the TV’s are old, and skip fairly bad every 10-15 seconds, making you miss 3-4 seconds of what is going on.
We ended up leaving during half time, as these two issues were making the visit much less enjoyable than we had expected. We will be back in a few days, because we love PBT, but I’m hoping these issues can be resolved soon! With as busy as this location stays, it’s not like funding for these issues should be a problem!
Thankfully the staff and food are...
Read moreA neighborhood pub. Had a "local" vibe- at least the night I was there.
The bar area felt a little "rowdy" but in a good way. The Bartender was very nice and attentive.
I would imagine it gets pretty loud in there but that's not a bad thing.
I ordered a sandwich which was served very quickly. It was a chicken salad melt. Hot and very juicy.
Pretty good beer selection, although they didn't have my favorite - Fat Tire. They did have a nice collection of local brews.
In addition to the bar area there is a restaurant area and a very large outdoor seating area. Lots of TVs.
It's in a shopping area so there is plenty of parking. The entrance and exit is kind of convoluted because of the car wash that is across the parking lot. Lots of coming and going.
This would be a good place to go with a group of friends. I would imagine that the service is consistently pretty good based on the personalities that I saw while I was sitting there. It was very clear that there is a group of regulars, so it must be a pretty good place.
This location is outside of the downtown area, but on the main highway. It is easily accessible. It is convenient without the downtown traffic and parking issues, but it does not have a downtown feel. In candy bar terms, sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't. This is a good location for a casual drink and dinner...
