Clocked!Diner — Restaurant in Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

I had already written a five-star review, but I'm going to edit. I feel like I'm the biggest fan ever of this incredible restaurant! My fiance booked our engagement dinner at Clocked. He gave them a time of 6-7pm. I was skeptical that they allowed him to have that much leeway on the time. But I must say when we got there at 6:45, they had the outdoor seating area marked with welcome signs on the door with our names! Then they had beautiful gold balloons that said congratulations. They had two waitresses taking all of our orders very quickly, which not only shocked me but was also quite impressive. Of course, the food was amazing as always!! Our out-of-town guests absolutely loved it! How could they not?? Andy, the man that corresponded all this for Clocked was unbelievably attentive and kept checking in with my fiancé to make sure he was happy. He was literally at our beckon call. I was shocked because he was treating my fiance like a VIP. You would have thought that he was a celebrity!! I was unbelievably impressed! Never have I been to a restaurant to be treated as such royalty! This was truly a magical, perfect moment! And even better still, they gave us a box of swag!!! It had two Clocked t-shirts, two Clocked hats, two Clocked glasses, and two really good cans of strawberry lemon hard cider! OMG, my day was made! I never thought that Clocked could make me even happier than they had in the many dozens of times we had eaten there!! This was a perfect experience and I will never forget everything they did for us and the perfect treatment that really went above and beyond! So, the universe has been telling us to visit Clocked! for quite some time. We've been on a mission to find the best restaurants that Athens has to offer since moving here in July, and Clocked! didn't disappoint!

I went with my partner and a friend of ours. My partner and our friend ordered the Bacon Jam burger. Our friend said, "I never knew that I needed Bacon jam in my life until now." Both raved about their burgers.

I, on the other hand, got the mushroom Swiss burger with caramelized onions, fresh jalapeños, and house made pimento cheese as add-ons. Admittedly, I didn't taste the toppings as much as I would have liked, BUT the burger itself is hefty, juicy, and loaded with flavor! It was easily one of the best burgers I've had in a long time (I'm talking since pre-COVID).

As sides, we split the garlic parmesan fries and the onion rings.

The fries don't look like much, but they were amazing. Very garlicky and I could swim in that dipping sauce.

The onion rings, on the other hand, were only OK. The batter didn't cling well to the onion, so the batter just fell right off. It was tasty, but I don't see myself ordering onion rings again.

The restaurant had an old-timey diner feel to it with ehat looked like a knock-off Star Trek movie playing in the background (we tried really hard to figure out what it was to no avail).

I hear the cocktails are great here as well, but I was DD, and my friends both ordered beers.

They do serve salads here, but this is definitely a 'treat yo'self' kind of place where, if you're calorie-counting, may not be the best option. Else, it's one of the best damn burgers I've ever had, and I definitely will be coming again in soon, and I've got my eyes on that Peanut Butter...

Wow. That’s all I can say is wow. I’m in Athens for a conference and made the amazing decision of finding a burger place. When I tell you the service is amazing, the atmosphere is quaint and organized… I am truly at an awe. There is outside and indoor seating, the atmospheric temperature is just right, the music isn’t too loud or too quiet, the team is right on point with their professionalism, appearance, and structure.

Now to the food… first I ordered a simple vanilla milk shake… guess what… it’s homemade and has such a creamy but yet thick texture. They serve all beverages in paper straws and being eco friendly is definitely a plus. But anyway… I don’t drink shakes often because I am lactose intolerant… but boy… I’d drink about 5 of these shakes a day if I could. Muah! Perfect.

Now my burger… the moment we have all been waiting for… I ordered the Ring of Fire which is a 1/3 pound burger, habanero jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and chipotle mayo… plus a couple slices of pickled jalapeño… yall when I tell you… the burger was cooked so tender and perfect and the combination of both sweet and spicy with just the right amount of heat and savor where you don’t even need to worry about your mouth overly burning or missing out on the heat. The combination is so perfect, I couldn’t even get a picture of the before. I am truly truly truly humbled to of been here.
