Jittery Joe's Coffee - Eastside — Restaurant in Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

Monday, November 18, 2024 12:45 at the 1860 S Barnett Shoals Rd Jittery Joes Location, I was treated with extremely rude customer service at this location. I am not one to leave a bad review but this employee was so rude I felt compelled to. When asking if I could order a tea blended with ice, a drink I often order at several different coffee shops, the woman on register explained to me like I was 5 it was something they couldn’t do, and proceeded to treat me like I was an idiot “dumbing down” how tea was made. I am well aware of how coffee and tea is made I used to be a barista. She continued to roll her eyes at me and after I patiently ordered, she proceeded to talk crap about me to the other barista working, laughing at me and rolling her eyes, making a show for everyone in the store. I even just decided to take the drink hot and ask for a cup of ice and do it myself, since it seemed like such a hassle for them for me to be there and order a drink. I understand everyone has bad days, as I work in the food/service industry myself, but this was too much. I really like this company and as a student at UGA I find myself visiting several on campus locations very often, but I am confident I will never return to this location EVER again. Tonight I asked a friend buy a sweeted tea with 2 pumps of peppermint flavoring from the Barnett Shoals location and what I received was a plain unsweetened tea. When I called the location, the individual that answered was extremely rude, unhelpful, disrespectful, and had a total disregard for customer service. They claimed that sweet tea isn't offered even though it is an option online. The worker also flat out cut me off and said there's nothing they could do because the store was closed. I understand that and wasnt expecting the door to be held open for me to come back, but I would've liked to come to a resolution of sorts whether it be i get my money back or could come back another day for a different drink. I shouldn't have to pay for poor service or a drink thats undrinkable. Every other location I've ever attended has had helpful and kind hearted workers, but this location has fallen short of the quality of service I'm used to receiving. They try hard here but this JJ's is plauged by unfortunates; poor location, from the customers perspective especially considering heavy traffic and poor traffic flow design makes this an accident prone shopping center; limited parking; students take most seats for hours at a time (tables are crammed in to compensate), Tile flooring makes the ambiance of this establishment more of a loud caucophony than a pleasant place to sit and sip. WiFi is rationed at three hours a sitting, you have to ask at the register for a unique code (that may not be unique), either to squeeze another couple of bucks out of those students loan funds or to discourage the drifters from meandering too long.
