I was at this shopping center for the Americas Thrift store, so I'm really reviewing the store vs the shopping center. The shopping center itself could use a little TLC in terms of repaving the parking lot, that kind of thing. The thrift store has been very helpful for me with finding clothes, some kitchen items, etc. It's pretty well organized and the staff have been very helpful. Prices are higher than I think they should be for jeans in particular, but they seem to be the same at all the thrift stores I've been to in the area. I just haven't caught up with the times! My only real complaint is that there are no longer dressing rooms. If I can't try on something, I probably won't buy it, especially pants. I can't afford to take home six items, have only one fit well, and have to bring everything else back for store credit. I can't go out that often so I have to make the most of...
Read moreThis is still the shopping center I frequent the most. However, it seems like everything is closing down here. The shops I frequent are Big Lots (amazing store), Dominoes, American Thrift Store (just realized what an incredible store this one is) and I used to do grocery shopping at Ingles, but it has closed down and sits there empty. Blockbuster has been replaced by a Planet Fitness, and Brett's American Restaurant is one of the best places to eat in Athens. I hope they are still open! There is also a CiCi's Pizza, which was actually pretty good. There is a furniture store that's in the process of going out of business, where I got a good deal on a nice TV stand, but other than those few shops there isn't much here, and Im not quite sure why. Unless, it has something to do with the neighborhood Wal-Mart opening just...
Read moreI haven't been to all stores or restaurants, but I can give a few suggestions. I strongly urge to slow down at the parking lot near Cici's Pizza as there are slow moving pedestrians as well as running children.
I go to Ingles for the drinks on sale with their loyalty card.
I mostly go to Big Lots for snacks, drinks, and a few electronic devices to support my phone and whatnot.
I trust Big Lots' furniture more, however, stay away from these so called "discount" furniture stores. They will rip you off even if they want to cut a "deal". It's the same furniture in Ashley's and in most cases, you see the same furniture there for a better price. Don't be scammed, shop around.
Carrabba's is decent, but expensive. NEVER go through the drive-thru at KFC because your order will be wrong 7/10...
