I placed two separate online orders at Longhorn’s in Athens, GA a few months ago. I received a confirmation for both orders which provided a time to pick up the orders. I arrived at the restaurant on time, parked, checked in for both orders, and waited. After waiting around 20 minutes I called inside. Finally an employee brought food to my car; however, it was only one of the orders. I told her I had a second order. She said she wasn’t aware and would go back in to retrieve the second order.
I waited another 20 minutes, but the employee never returned. So I called in again and spoke to the manager. I told him what happened and asked him to just cancel the order. That never happened. I submitted a review online. I received an email after submitting the review and was emailed a $25 gift card. My order that was supposed to be cancelled and refunded cost more than $25 and frankly I wasn’t even interested in eating at this restaurant again. So the person that emailed me asked that I send a copy of my receipt, so I did.
I received a call from a manager named Amber from the Athens restaurant a few days later. She had already been told what happened, but she asked me to explain what happened again. I explained it to her. She said she would send another gift card. I told her I wanted MY MONEY. She told me she would check into getting me a refund and would call me back the following day to confirm it had been processed. I never received a call back. I have called to Longhorn’s at least twice every week since I spoke to her and I’ve been told she’s either not available or not there each time. Read moreI will NEVER come back to this location or any LongHorn. The service that my coworkers and I received left a lot to say. We all had agreed to let it go the first time the waiter was extremely rude to us. However, through out our Christmas lunch/dinner she was nothing but rude. However, she was extremely sweet to her other guest. Some of the things she said to us where along the lines of, “ you are taking to long to decide what you want, WHAT “extremely loudly the two times we asked for bread and a portion of the food that was not brought to one of my co workers, rolling of the eyes with Does she want her change back? I guess not “ deciding to keep the change my co worker had given to pay for her billl. It was extremely embarrising. Towards the end one of my co workers overheard her say, “if they say one more thing I will do something.” All we truly wanted was to enjoy a nice lunch/dinner. We didn’t deserve the service we received. When we asked for her manager she said that there were to many to know who was actually there. We really did tried to keep everything to ourselves, but it was extremely embarrassing, specially for the type of guest we had with us. The waitresses name was Estela Z. Thanks to her 13 people will never be back to this restaurant again. I had thought about doing my own Christmas lunch. Now I will never even consider doibg anything at this location. I give up on Longhorn’s! Steaks… Medium well is too done. Medium is too bloody and yet they have no in between. I ask for grilled onions and mo one seems to know what that means. Goodness! You put them on the chopped steak. Put them on the sirloin. We’ve been HUGE fans of Longhorn’ for decades and occasionally it’s great but 75% of the time it’s not.
This week someone invited us to Texas Longhorn. Goodness me!!! They cut their steaks in house! You can even pick your steak. They cooked my steak perfect and ASK if you want it topped with onions, mushrooms or cheese or all?
I didn’t realize what a flavored sirloin SHOULD taste like. 100% better than Longhorns. Not to mention the entire meal as better. The service was fun and upbeat. Everything was perfect.
Sorry, Longhorn’s… we are done!
Update:
So inconsistent. Came today and steak was overcooked at medium well and last time it was undercooked. They were getting it right. Also… have been getting grilled onions that weren’t soup but this time they came out gross. Was told they had to cook cooks soup but they haven’t been this way for months. And said she would take them off and didn’t. Just a bad experience the last couple of times.
I believe in writing reviews when things are not good but also when they are GREAT!
