HEALTH WARNING!!!!! DO NOT EAT!!!!! HEALTH WARNING!!!!!! DO NOT EAT!!!!!!!!!!!! Went to Ted's Most Best tonight(wed,4/18/18) to get a sandwich to go. While waiting I saw a waitress(bartender)? with long black hair take a trash can off the floor and place it on one of the stainless bar/food service surfaces to change the bag!!! She then set it back on the floor. She did not wipe the surface or make any other attempt to clean the spot where she set the garbage can!!! NOR DID SHE WASH HER HANDS!!!! I then saw a young waitress with braces drop a paper napkin on the floor and pick it back up and set it on the stack in the basket of napkins she was filling for waitresses to bring to the table!!! As she was about to put another handful of napkins on top of the dirty one I mentioned to her that she should not do that and that it was not funny!!! She smiled and took the dirty napkin off the stack and put it in her pocket. Then she put another handful of napkins on the stack where the dirty napkin had been!!!! Before this she had been using a dishrag to wipe tables. AT NO TIME DID SHE WASH HER HANDS!!!!!! I then asked to speak to the manager. She did not seem to think this filthy way to handle things was a big deal and kept telling me," it's ok, it's ok." HARDLY!!!! All the while the waitress with braces was standing behind her manager smiling and laughing!!! Clearly this kind of disgusting and filthy and DANGEROUS lack of food safety concern is rampant and well established at Ted's. Hopefully someone is not hospitalized currently from eating at Ted's but with this kind of accepted and nonchalant attitude towards food safety it is only a matter of time!!!!! I will be waking up early to call the ACC Health Department Food Services Division and relate this story. Until Ted's has made some form of public acknowledgement that it has retrained the staff in regards to food safety and handling and that this issue is taken seriously I must issue the following; WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT EAT!!!!!!!!!!! WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT...
Read moreWe placed an order for pizza @ Ted's Best on Mon 12/23 4pm of $125 with delivery thru Bulldawg Foods. Neither Ted's Best nor Bulldawg Foods had a notice on their website or in any type of manner to notify us that they were closed or closed early on 12/23. Bulldawg Foods had the ordering system and allowed us to order from Ted's Best and then processed our order on their site and charged our credit card $125. I ordered at 4:30 for 5:30-5:45 delivery for a gathering of 15 persons at our house. At 5:50pm, I called Ted's Best and Bulldawg Foods multiple times and finally reached Ted's Best who then notified me that no food was coming. The person on the phone apologize but kept blaming Bulldawg Foods and would not take any responsibility that Ted's Best could have avoided this by updating their website appropriately. We would have never ordered from a restaurant that was going to be closed @ 4pm if we knew that. I was upset and argumentative. Finally the guy said, "Whatever sir, Merry Christmas" and hung up on me. Very dismissive of my frustration. It was extremely disappointing that both establishments allowed this to happen. Noone has yet cancelled my credit card payment. Noone from Bulldawg Foods or Ted's Best has apologized for this debacle. We are thankful that we were able to use Mellow Mushroom in downtown Athens to bail us out. Ted's Best and Bulldawg Foods could have easily prevented this by updating their website. I have never eaten at Ted's Best and the only way I know to protest the lack of customer service is to permanently avoid both establishments...
Read moreThe layout at Tedâs is very unique. The restaurant took over an old auto repair garage and they managed to keep the garage feel while creating a very cool atmosphere. You order at a counter and then one side of the restaurant is an open kitchen with a brick oven. The wall at the entrance to the restaurant features glass garage doors that open up to a large patio with outdoor seating. Because the weather was AMAZING on Saturday afternoon, we sat at table outside on the patio. It was a great set up.
The menu features a variety of pizzas, paninis, salads, and calzones and there is a good selection of vegetarian items. I decided to have the âspecialâ pizza for the day, which came with sausage, green peppers, and red onion. It was a 10-inch pizza that was cut into four slices and was plenty big enough to serve as a meal and it cost about $8. Actually, for most people, it could probably serve as a meal for two.
The pizza had a thin crust and it was a good amount of toppings. I liked the flavor of the sauce and I also liked that there wasnât too much sauce on it. There were also plenty of toppings that were evenly distributed to all four slices. Everything had good flavor, but I would have preferred it to cook in the oven for a couple more minutes. The cheese wasnât quite as golden-brown as I normally cook it and I think a little more time in the oven would have made the crust and little more crispy, which I love in a pizza. In all though, they...
