Absolutely the worst visit to an Applebee's. The steak wasn't cooked to medium well consistency It was supposed to be 8oz. However, the cut of steak brought round with height. The steak was more like 4-6 oz, and upon cutting it open, it was (rare) entirely pink! I asked the server to have it cooked medium well as ordered. The server takes it back and returns with the steak on a side dish plate filled with the steak and bright red liquid 2 inches & darker color red liquid surrounding it. The steak had well-done spots on the outside and still "rare"! I don't like "well done burnt taste and I asked for another steak. I thought maybe if the different steak wasn't so small in circumference and thick that they could cook it properly medium well. This didn't happen. Instead, I received "well done steak jerky! I realized after that why my hubby ate his medium rare without sending back. The server smarted off, saying, " It's actually myoglobin!" However, I went back to a picture of medium well steak that we received at a different location. There was no bright red liquid swimming on the plate. Myoglobin isn't easy for "all" to digest and has a darker tint. Also, medium well steak has a small line of red. I also think it's bad taste to ring up another steak and comp it on the ticket, saying we have to do that for food cost. We'll it's obvious that the "Priority is Food Cost at this location!" Also, if you would just focus on Customer Service, then sales would offset your ' Food costs! When establishments are "micro managing customer service with small portions and not fixing the real problem that leads to " bad service and no repeat business. Also, taking the chance for food borne illness by serving "rare myoglobin" to customers who are unable to digest! I don't recommend ordering steak at this location during evening hours unless " Rare" is...
Read moreThe food was good and not the problem. The server Lorna S has an ATTITUDE and she is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL.
We ate here later than usual on a Thursday night. The time we closed our bill was at around 9:30pm.
As we ordered our foods she had an attitude. My daughter who is about 12 likes her steaks done medium rare. She gets steak almost anywhere she can and THAT has how she likes it cooked. It isn't the place of the server to tell a customer that it isn't how she should have it cooked. My daughter & I got the special where you can get 2 meals & appetizer. So I picked the artichoke spinach dip as it would have chips as well. We had been on the road & not eaten an actual meals since breakfast.
Then my husband ordered a plain Bacon Cheeseburger. He stated "I would like to get a PLAIN cheeseburger & add bacon to that, please. So she rudely & unprofessionally MAKE fun of my husband. She said PLAIN, so you ONLY want cheese & bacon, why would you do that you don't want the burger JUST cheese & bacon. There was NO joke. She was being rude. I spoke up and said "He asked for a plain CheeseBURGER & to PLEASE add bacon. He obviously WANTS the burger.
Then as we were getting our check & to go box for my dinner, she AGAIN was actually telling us we needed to take the dip. The dip was halfway finished, we didn't like it and we had even stated to her before we were at a local hotel. She kept saying we could take the dip. NO and she mentioned it AGAIN. NO, we do NOT have the room other than what we just got to go.
So, good food and an extremely rude and unprofessional server. Thank Lorna S for the complaint to corporate &...
Read moreWell lets get the good out of the way, the food was very good for all five of us, when we finally got seated. The bad, the add on my phone all you can eat 15.99 was apparently a lie, even though it comes up of you google it. Terrible marketing, would have gone to Firebirds if I knew were were spending 150 bucks. The hostess was non existent for the first twenty minutes we stood there. Then we took the booth for our party and got a server who was nice and warned us she had just gotten a large birthday party, and to let us know if we were needing anything. 20 minutes to get the first round after we ordered. sigh....Another server who had just gotten there tried and eventually took over our table, this one was on point. The food another twenty minutes, if you're adding this up were a hour in and they were clearly understaffed for a Saturday night. Got our food thanks to our new server who was not dedicated to the birthday party, so we managed to get another round of drinks in a timely fashion. The server tried to get us a free something or discount due to the situation that had unfolded (which was not necessary but grateful she tried.) However, the manager would do nothing, so her is my take away. Thank you paid staff for busting your butts for everybody regardless of your leadership, you did well. Kitchen kudos on the meals, presentation and taste. Manager, if you worked in my restaurant, you would now be searching for a job. Corporate you need to put into practice customer first. I will continue to enjoy the menu only at a different location. Oak Ridge it...
