Bob Evans — Restaurant in Athens

I will never eat here again and had previously done so several times over the years. People are going to get sick here if they haven’t already. Zero hygenine on display from our waitress. I was there Friday evening after a swim meet to feed my hungry kids. It was around 7:30 or 8 in the evening. The hostess was the only employee I saw that was working hard. Her name was Lily. This is not about her. Our waitress was incredibly put out when she introduced herself and I could tell the table behind us was upset with her. I let it slide because I didn’t know what the issue was at that point it could have been them, I learned by the end it wasn’t a customer out of line. She brought us drinks and took our order. We even ordered cinna biscuits because the kids were starving. We were there 35 minutes and she never came back. In that time I watched her an a male server talk about the entire restaurant in the corner (which was right behind me) and how 4 tables sent their food back because it was cold. I knew we had a problem. Then I watched our server walk behind the counter and start shoving biscuits in her mouth. I was annoyed because at this point no refills are offered and our biscuits should have been out. I was mad, but let it slide again. There was one other table at this point and they had just walked in. The hostess was busily grabbing biscuits out of a drawer with tongs and it’s clear this restaurant prioritizes to go orders. Not great, but here’s where I got up and left over. Our waitress then started grabbing food out of the drawers with her bare hands, not gloves, not tongs, bare hands. She was playing to go orders with her bare hands. Who knows how many plates she did this with and I had just watched her not only eating, but also cleaning with the same dirty hands and a dirty rag right before she did this. She didn’t even try to hide that she was bare handed grabbing food so I can’t even imagine what happens where customers can’t see. It was sickening. I will be letting the Athens Health Department know about this too. I feel sorry for the hostess because as I said she seemed to be the only person in the store working and when we got up and left, no manager ever in site, she looked concerned. I told her I was disgusted after watching our waitress put her dirty hands all over people’s food and we would not be eating there. You guys should be investigated thoroughly. That is how people are going to get Norovirus. Absolutely disgusting. I wish I had not forgotten my phone in the car because I would have filmed this. It was...

Waited over a hour for breakfast to get here nothing fancy for them to make only 4 of us two separate orders ,waitress never came back to check on us to tell us why it was taking so long she was more worried about a couple hunters that came in after us that was sitting at a table that had ordered steak that they burned also 3 or 4 people came in ordered and ate while we was waiting on our food. When our food came out bacon was greasy not cooked all the way,over medium eggs were cold runny husbands scrambled eggs were runny and his pancakes were very burnt the other couple that was with us had burned pancakes as well.I needed a orange juice refill ,I had to ask for finally got it and when the waitress asked how everything was we told her not good. She immediately got a attitude told us some orders take longer we didn't order anything special steak should of took longer again they came in after us ordered after us got there food and was leaving while we were still waiting on ours to come oue. This waitress said in a rude voice give me your slip and was gone for several minutes then the manager came out great lady great customer service seen our food was burned and seemed to understand our aggravation she did compensate both our meals she was great everything else was terrible this lady was and is a great manager the only thing good about our visit this time. This is always or first stop for breakfast on a four hour trip we take down to west Virginia a few times a year. It don't stop there unfortunately! After leaving I had apparently got some sort of food poisoning I was nauseous, had diarrhea (not good when your traveling over four hours i barely made it to restrooms) I had to stop and by anti diarrhea medicine to make it the rest of the way down. Then this nausea and diarrhea continued to last two days after. We ordered Pickup. After ordering, the food was supposed to be ready at 805 pm on Easter Sunday. I showed up about 815 pm. After not being able to locate my order for a some time I was told some of the food was ready and some was not. They were not very busy and only had a few tables. The food that was ready was sitting in a basket behind the checkout counter and not under a heat lamp. I waited about 10 more minutes and asked the hostess what we were still waiting on. She told me it was a salad and she was about to go make it right now. She made the salad and put it with the rest of my food. I waited a few more minutes and asked it if the salad was all we were waiting on. She said no there was more and she would go check. I expressed to her I didn't like my food sitting in the basket getting cold while I waited on the rest of the order. She apologized but didn't offer a solution of any kind. About 10 minutes later I asked again if there was anything we were waiting on. She checked the order and said it was all there and handed it to me. I checked the food and the salad she had made was missing. She located the salad and gave it to me. At this point I saw the manager up front doing things. After getting my food I expressed again how disappointed I was that my food was cold. At this point it was after 840 pm and I wasn't the only one that was waiting on food. She apologized again and I left angry. Upon getting home I realized my order was missing biscuits and gravy as well that I didn't notice when checking at the restaraunt. I will never give them a penny of my money. I love Bob Evans. I worked at a different location for a couple years as a teenager. I will eat Bob Evans still....but never here....
