I used to go here to take a shower. Most people that use the Rec Center never use the showers, they just change into their street clothes, instead of showering off all that funky sweat. However, since Covid-19 the showers are now closed. They said they can't guarantee them to be sanitary, implying that use of their showers might spread disease. The men's locker room is small and cramped. Sanitizing of the gym equipment is mainly done by the people that use them.

They charge kids $5 per day, just to come in and shoot around on the basketball court. That’s pretty pricey considering most of the courts are not open, most kids are only there for a hour or two, and a lot of families can’t afford that everyday. How about making it more affordable and encouraging kids to get out and be active. I do wish that there was a better alternative...

It is nice for walking and biking but for rollerblading the paths need to be smoother and free of leaves and debris so I'll try the middle section that circles around Athens and see if that's better. They probably don't have enough staff or money to clear debris from the paths...
