Pastime Club — Restaurant in Athol

We had one of our best nights ever in the Pastime Tavern in Athol Idaho, We two guys had spent the evening putting a new alternator in our van so we could get home. On our test run to make sure it was OK, we came across this place and thought we’d treat ourselves to a quick beer. As soon as we walked in everyone turned around , stopped, looked at us as we were obviously strangers. It was a bit unnerving especially as everyone came towards us, but then, we realised they were welcoming us! It was unreal! We said we couldn’t stay as our wives were waiting for us, bring ’em down, they said. So we did! When we got back 15 minutes later , you’d think we had been going there all our lives. What a night! Love the newest owners, real down to earth, friendly and approachable folks. They seem to treat their bartenders pretty descently and mingle amongst their customers, seeming to know most if not all. Always trying out new weekend functions for the community to check out so they have something local to do ie: arm wrestling competition- major overflowing turnout! Packed!! We stopped by this place looking for WiFi, as there was nothing at the state park we stayed at. Dave the owner was sitting outside & offered to give us his WiFi password without coming into the bar. We decided we would stop in and buy a drink and use our laptop at the bar. Glad we did, it was one of our highlights of our road trip.
