Our family of 4 stayed 3 nights during our trip to Silverwood park. The Inn is less than 5 minutes from the park, which was a big reason we stayed here. Also, because of the good reviews (which are warranted).
The Good: Our check-in was a breeze and we found the room very clean and odor-free upon arrival. Parking was ample.
The beds are comfy and on the firmer side. 4 pillows per bed was appreciated. The blackout blinds were very helpful, as well.
It was very easy to control the room temperature using the remote controlled A/C and heat. The fridge was clean and didnât make any weird noises. (Appliance noises drive me crazy).
The TV was well-situated in the room. The towels were pretty soft and there were enough for all of us, and requesting more the next day was easy. Also, the diner two buildings over has insanely good French toast, and the drive-through coffee across the street was pretty good too (location matters!).
The Neutral and not-so-good: All these positives are enough for 5 stars in our review, but hereâs some things we didnât like or things some other people may not like.
We donât typically like housekeeping services while we are out of the room, so it didnât bother us that no housekeeping services were available while we were out of the room.
The pipes in the main sink were very loud when the water was transitioning from cold to hot. The pipes continued to be loud while the hot water. Also, the hot water initially takes about 90 seconds to warm up of it hasnât been used recently. I had to flip the water on and walk away or else it would never reach a warm temp. Less time needed thereafter. No big deal for us, but something to be aware of.
The shower was okay but not amazing. The water also takes a long time to warm, but was very hot once it did. There are two water option: an overhead ârainfallâ type and a handled spray-type on the wall. In our room the water pressure was barely adequate to fill the rainfall shower head. Also, the handled shower sprayer doesnât hang up but rather sits on top of a rest, so when I went to turn the water on initially the sprayer pressurized, fell from the rest, and proceeded to spray water everywhere until I could grab it. Iâm laughing now, but it wasnât funny at the time : )
All in all, this was a cozy, safe, and clean place to stay. We will be back on our next trip...
Read moreWe stayed in Room 8 . Got there at 8:30 PM from Silverwood. Turned shower to H (hot I assumed) NO HOT WATER. Turned to cold & got colder so Turned back. Apparently it is backwards so 6 yr. & 10 yr. Old and myself a grandma & my daughter all took cold showers. Management Said " Oh we should've called them at 8:30 & they would've showed us shower was backwards" . We assumed since late they'd run out of hot water possibly. There was also a quarter size old blood spot on the flat sheet on edge where you put your face. We didn't know this as grandson didn't say anything and we didn't notice til straightening bed on morning we left. On calling to request price reduction a day later because of all the issues management then denied water was backwards & said why didn't we turn it to cold then or call him. ???? No one on site and no Office so why would we call at 9 at night. We had 1 hand towel for 4 people, no wash clothes, no ice trays in refer and no ice available in building, shower floor was like glass and 6 yr. old slipped and fell stepping in and mom caught him. I was nervous as so slippery couldn't even take steps in it hardly as worried about falling. 2nd night I put the cloth bath mat on the shower floor to keep from falling. Management said never had any complaints and no issues with this. If would've called late at night they would've fixed it. You punch a code to get in as NO Office on site. I've stayed in many places in U.S. & foreign countries and never ran into so many issues and especially at $250+ a night. I would never recommend this to anyone for Safety reasons in shower and just bare minimum supplies in room. Manager said he'd check with owner on reducing charge but doubt he ever did as it's been a few days. At $250+ a night and all these issues, it would be responsible to make an attempt to. Rooms have been remodeled and look good but amenities very lacking for...
Read moreWe stayed 3 nights. Our kids were camping nearby and we were spending a few days at Silverwood, so this place was perfect for our needs. I love camping , but my hubby is not a camper. The location was perfect, the rooms were remodeled and clean, and the service was exceptional. I have seen a few reviews about not having an office and I thought that was a bit odd at first, but after arriving and having to contact staff a few times, I found Derick to be very responsive to our needs and actually found it to be easier than having to go to an office for help. He answered extremely fast every time with a very helpful attitude. Derick, I did notice that even though you texted you were out of creamer cups, that you made sure I had some for the next morning and that was very much appreciated. Derick was great throughout our whole stay. I would highly recommend you give them a try, we were pleasantly surprised and super happy with our accommodations. Not a five star hotel if thatâs what youâre looking for, but defiantly a five star stay. A few recommendations, not to criticize, but may be helpful for others: since the fridge is good size and there is no ice machine, a simple ice tray with ice ready would be great. Guests can refill at there leisure and if they donât want it they can just set to the side. A simple desk chair in the rooms that only have one bed would be helpful so the bed is not the only place to sit. This one has nothing to do with our stay, but you really need some sineage. I know itâs a work in progress, so maybe itâs on the list. Anyway, overall great stay....
