Beacon Pizza & Tap House — Restaurant in Athol

05-03-25 Had to take this from 4 stars to 2 stars. Would’ve been 1 star but the brunette was the most help and friendly we’ve had since the last year and a half coming here now. Today we noticed the price change and a big difference in the crust (not a good one). One table was clean the other dirty in the game room. This has happened the two times we wanted to sit here. The second time (today) for sitting here, the room started to become apparent with a mold smell. Not a single of the workers here actually tried to clean the large table next to us. I didn’t mind the grabbing a menu and coming up to order style until it just got annoying. It would be so slow and they will cater to one person sitting at the bar but not check on you almost ever. It’s like they just don’t care about the place anymore. We’ll probably just take this as ouR sign and just not come back again. Sorry guys. We tried three times of it being not so good to come to this conclusion.

08-18-2023 Definitely a good shift this go around. I ate here about a year, year and a half ago and I wasn't impressed when I got their supreme pizza. It wasn't such a bad flavor, but it was bland in the sauce and my onions and peppers were very very raw. Not a good appeal. Got their pizza and cheesy bread (they also let me add on artichokes! For a fee of course) after a friend told me it was much better now and everything was 100 times better. Crust, flavor, the way the pizza is cooked. Sooo good. Very happy!! They even have punch cards for their pizzas and a punch card for subs! Such an awesome deal to have...

This establishment has a really great interior and that’s about all it has going for it. I have tried this place on three separate occasions and was not impressed either of those times. Very overpriced for the service and food. The food isn’t really all that great either. The crust is either doughy or burnt, toppings are sparse, and the sauce tastes store bought. There is no actual concept going on; from the actual name to the menu, they don’t seem to have an identity. The name “Beacon” doesn’t seem to serve a purpose, as well as being followed by the word “Pizza” since they are now serving prime rib.. seems like they are just a typical dive restaurant. The logo is a little strange also. A piece of pizza with antlers? Not sure what’s going on there.

I typically give restaurants three tries before I decide to discontinue going there. Might try again when they gain a little more experience...

Ordered a lg 18 inch beacon supreme and 2 Pepsi's $36 total for dine in. There was a family seated eating pizza already and 2 gentlemen drinking some beer the rest of the place was empty. Took 76 mins for our pizza to get done, crust was paper thin and very tough, little to no sauce, barely any pepperoni, 3 slices of mushrooms on the whole pizza, a massive amount of cHeese green peppers and sausage, Waitress then asks if we want some plates or forks or are we going to eat right from the pan, then brings us 2 flimsy paper plates. Worst pizza ever. Lil caesar's wouldve been better only reason we tried it was because Iron pizza was closed. I've never been so disappointed before. Total RIP off, and worst part is because I spent so much for their worthless pizza I cant afford to go get one from Iron pizza when they open...
