C & L Repair — Local services in Athol

We were headed to Hope, ID, for a family vacation the day after Christmas and had trouble with our transmission. We were able to make it to Athol and tried two other shops that were not open or able to look at our car. We hesitantly decided to leave our Suburban in front of C&L and drop the key hoping they would be able to look at it and possibly fix it. Kevin called me the next morning to let me know that he would be able to look at it. Unfortunately, we needed a new transmission which is not the news you want to hear at this time of year. Kevin ordered the part hoping that it would arrive before we were going back home. It did not, but Kevin was great to work with and kept us informed all week. They fixed it in about 1 1/2 weeks and we were able to drive back and get our Suburban. It turns out we totally lucked out leaving our Suburban at C&L! I highly recommend them....

These people are fantastic and reliable. I have taken my car to them for over 20yrs and have never had 1 issue with them in all that time. They are trustworthy and reliable, They only charge you for what you need not what they want to fix and charge you. They have saved me thousands when i went to someone else to get their opinion on an issue and when Stan told me they can work on this issues I took it in to them and it was back in my garage that night and saved me over a thousand dollars. If you want a reputable place to take your car to take it to Stan at C&L Auto. They are awesome...

My brother bought a full service package from these guys, and they told him that the brake pads have at least a year's life left. A few weeks later, the rear pads are grinding into the rotors. They told my brother that his car is safe, and it wasn't. Brakes are easy, basic maintenance. I don't tolerate mistakes that could endanger my life, and the lives of other motorists. No excuses for this sort of mistake. Neither my brother, nor I, will be going back. It's a shame, because he did very good...
