Jessica Klapan 1/5 4 minutes ago on Google Bedbugs here!! We've stayed at this Motel several times and never had an issue until this last attempted stay in late April 2022. Prior to this, we found the rooms to be clean and staff to be friendly and accommodating. Most recently, we were given room 5 which has 2 adjacent rooms. The outer most room on the corner has clear evidence of bedbugs. I am a nurse with experience in bedbug infestations in residential settings. I did approach the manager about my concerns and he looked at the room with me. He appeared gracious and offered a refund. He gave me instructions on how to obtain the refund as we'd booked and paid for the rooms through Booking.com. I completely understand hotels have to battle these issues which is not my issue. My issue is that they are now refusing to refund the money without explanation or response. Very unethical and dishonest people. I strongly recommend staying elsewhere as I suspect they are trying to hide and cover up this problem. I've posted pictures of my findings on as proof...

Wood-grain, Trains, and Automobiles.

The thin walls of the Athol Motel are no match for either Highway 54 (which is just a few feet away) or the train tracks nearby. Even though the official speed limit on the highway is 35 MPH, many large trucks sound like they are going faster. Also, the periodic trains that pass by really like to lay on the horn, even in the wee hours of the morning.

Expect a loud night's stay.

The rooms are small and quaint. They have a microwave and fridge but no table at which to eat. The toilet is so close to the wall on the left that some may find it difficult to use. There is only a shower and no bathroom fan.

The flat-screen smart TV in the room is connected to WiFi but they don't allow guests to use that WiFi. However, there is good cell reception, so you can make your own hot-spot if needed.

We came here from another hotel and was impressed with them right from the start. We had made a reservation, but didn't actually show up to check in until late and the lady told me that she was getting ready to text us to make sure we were still coming. I appreciated that they held the reservation and was willing to verify with us before giving it to someone else. The room was clean, bathroom fixtures surprised me by the fact that they are still white, not yellowed or rusted like other places. The lady set up our room cleaning around our schedule and went out of her way to accommodate us on our other requests. Overall, I'm giving her 5 stars, but I'd give more if I was able to.
