Chay J's New Orleans Candies — Restaurant in Atlanta

Moving to Atlanta in 2017 and knowing no one is very hard when trying to be social. After getting a job in the Cumberland mall, the aroma that filled the air led me to ChayJs where I met Channon and Jay (New Orleans natives). The warm southern hospitality, friendliness and passionate energy was very welcoming. Shannon allowed me to try their AWARD WINNING HAND MADE CREOLE PRETZELS, and I instantly fell in love with the unique flavors. From that moment on I’ve been HOOKED. The consistency of the product is immaculate. Being a small business that isn’t selling massed produced products can be hard to keep the exact quality, and flavor exact EVEN WITH A RECIPE but ChayJ’s has mastered that in MY OPINION! Anytime Channon and Jay has an event and I’m in the city I’m pulling up! The best dessert company in Georgia and after 5 years of know them and becoming very close friends I still to this day in 2022 I get me the BIGGEST bag of the FAMOUS AWARD...

We had purchased pralines from ChayJ’s at the Smyrna Food Truck Tuesdays in the past and always loved them. We were there yesterday (May 17, 2022) and purchased 2 pralines, as well as a bag of the praline pretzels. I wish we had tried them before we went home. The sugar in the pralines was very granular, as if it hadn’t been melted enough in the process of making the pralines. The pralines also had an odd flavor. We were hoping the pretzels were better. They were delicious, but were definitely not coated in praline. It was almost a hard candy texture, but definitely harder than toffee, and definitely heated way past praline temperature. I was first introduced to Chay J’s at a food truck competition hosted at Georgia Tech. From that day, I have religiously followed Chay and her amazing candies. I’ve shopped in her store at Cumberland Mall (I’m still sad it’s gone), driven to a random Cajun seafood market in Atlanta, and have placed numerous orders online. Every bag of pretzels, butter cake, and praline have been perfection. I frequently purchase and gift Creole Pretzels for birthdays or other events and order a 1 gallon tin every Christmas for our family.
