I've been to Flat Iron before and had a fine experience, but my recent visit left a lot to be desired. My wife and I arrived at 12:05 PM, shortly after the restaurant opened at 12:00 PM. However, instead of being greeted with a "hello" or "welcome," we were met with a barrage of comments stating that they weren't open yet. I pointed out that it was, in fact, after 12:00, and their door was open. The lead employee noticed the time, offered a passive apology, but the energy was noticeably different from the initial response we received when we walked in.
From what I can remember the food was decent... Nothing rave about but also I was willing to come back... All in all of you would like a side of rudeness and asshole with your food definitely come here!!!!
Restaurant theme song knuck if you buck by lil scrappy and field mob
While most of the staff did apologize, one employee did not. When I expressed that I was still waiting for an apology from that particular staff member, it never came. Instead, I overheard them mumble under their breath, which I also called out. The atmosphere was clearly off from that point, and it made me uncomfortable.
It's unfortunate because I've previously enjoyed dining here, but this experience made me question whether I should continue supporting a place where I didn't feel valued as a customer. While my money alone won't make or break this business, it would bother me to keep giving it to an establishment that doesn't seem to appreciate its patrons. Additionally, I didn't feel confident about the care and energy going into the food they were preparing after such an...
Read moreFirst let me say that the atmosphere is not for everyone. It is a dive bar and kind of dark inside, but it has a charm of its own. The service has always been exceptional, the bartenders and wait staff have been nothing but awesome. I haven't had too many menu items, but I will say that the jerk wings are to die for. It's usually good to get there before too late because they can sell out. They are jumbo wings, nothing like what you would find at Taco Mac or other wing places. These are serious jumbo and juicy wings. I used to work in a restaurant and bar in college and appreciate good wings, nobody else compares to their jerk wings with blue cheese. It's the right amount of sauce and tang from the blue cheese, this is just a really enjoyable meal to me because I could eat wings everyday and not get tired of them. Jerk can be an acquired taste for some people, but if you want to give it a shot, you will not be disappointed when compared to other places. Really great jerk wings at FlatIron!
I got jerk wings this past weekend, and they are consistently good! They are the largest wings I have had in the ATL and the most flavorful...seriously they are so big and tender, kudos to them for picking their supplier...I still don't know that I should spread the word because I don't want the supply to run out...they only have so many jerk wings per day because of the way they prepare them. If I were on death row, I think I would want FlatIron's jerk wings for my last meal.
On top of that, the guys at the bar are the coolest and kindest so it just makes it that...
Read moreYesterday we stopped by this establishment on Halloween with a group of friends. The first incident happened when trying to order food the bar tender was rude and rushing an order for multiple people . We then headed upstairs to the bar to get drinks and play darts. I ordered a Long Island ice tea and my partner ordered a gin and tonic. Upon tasting our drinks i realized mine tasted like a watered down coke and his tasted completely of tonic water basically just seltzer water. A friend we were with also said her drink tasted like seltzer water instead of the gin and tonic she also ordered. I wasted no time bringing the drinks to back to the bar so they would not doubt that we honestly didn’t find our drink suitable they were full . Upon returning to the bar I asked if there was anything he could do and rudely said nope there’s nothing I can do I have a full bar and walked away . I waited for him to return and asked for a refund which he said he would not grant even after my boyfriend left him a 15 dollar tip for the drinks . I tried to plead with bartender a stockier white male with a septum piercing to give us a refund so that we could just buy shots instead of ordering cocktails and he responded to me in extremely rude manner not fit for any man in a customer dedico industry to speak to a woman . I set the drinks back on the bar and left an extremely offended and...
