Normally I absolutely love Grant Central Pizza. I literally went out of my way, in the rain, to pick up this pie. I called ahead and ordered a large pie with extra cheese ($21). The young lady that took my phone order was super sweet. When I arrived, I parked in their lot, behind the building. The restaurant was relatively empty compared to the many other times I had eaten here. My pizza was ready when I arrived. The young lady at the register was really kind. I opened the box to look at my pizza before leaving. I don’t like for the cheese on my pizza to turn brown. The pie had several areas where the cheese was brown and starting to burn. On the ride to my destination, I began eating a slice. This was about 5 minutes after I had picked it up. When I tell you the pizza was so gross. It was still piping hot which was the only positive thing I could say. It was almost as if the crust was cardboard instead of dough. Then the cheese, the cheese, the cheese. With the first bite, it ALL slid right off the slice. Not in the good way like when fresh mozzarella is gooey and stretches from the slice to your mouth. Nope, this was that cheap frozen cheese pizza slide off. The kind where the entire layer of cheese comes off in one solid hunk. It was oh so gross. The cheese didn’t even taste like real cheese. You know that cheap no name cheese that you would NEVER buy to make your Mac and cheese with? Yup, that type of cheap nasty processed cheese. I do honestly think that the main problem was the way the pizza was baked. I included a photo, which doesn’t look all that bad, but trust me when I say, It was Bad! Now, like I said, I normally love Grant Central Pizza. I decided to call them to complain. The same sweet young lady answered the phone. I told her exactly how nasty the pie was. She apologized and asked me to bring it back and they would make me a new one. I told her that , unfortunately, my schedule did not permit me to turn around and return to them. I told her that I really needed someone to speak with the person who made the pie because he/she needs training. Including tip, I spent $25 for pizza that was inedible. I would have loved to have been offered a replacement pie on my next visit or even a refund. Neither was offered. When I declined to return to the store the young lady became very quite. She did not know what to say. She finally said thank you and goodbye. She remained very kind. I just think she truly had no other option to offer other than me returning to the restaurant. Needless to say, with a price point of $21 a pie, this will be my last time driving out of my way to Grant Central, especially when the only available solution for when their product is NOT tasty is to have the customer drive back to their establishment to wait for a new one to be made. At that high price point, there should certainly be other options.

2nd time is a charm! It had been several years since I’ve eaten here but today was the day that I knew I’d be back! I’ll give you my top 3 comments: 1. Staff was amazing. Super patient when ordering. Gave great suggestions. Super conversational. The parmesan on the pizza for me was, although they are not full service, they had someone coming by and checking on the tables. 2. About the food - I ordered a house salad. It was fresh & I believe the the lemon vinaigrette was nicely done. I also had a slice of the Super and it was just that. 3. THE CALZONE!(it’s gets it’s own comment)…I mean just look at the picture and vids. If you’re not convinced then they just aren’t your thing. Mine was stuffed chicken and spinach. I’m in love. Lastly, do you see that boat of marinara sauce!!!

This restaurant have good food. I ordered their medium chicken and bacon pizza. They gave us a large pizza and two free blueberry cheesecake for waiting a little while longer for our meal. It was delicious. Thanks Grant Central Pizza. Sorry, but I have no photos. I'm going back to this restaurant for more pizza, soon. Price vary between $10-$20. 2nd Visit: I ordered the same type of pizza, but a large one. The pizza tasted good. The cheesy bread sticks was a little burnt and the sauce tasted like Italian spaghetti sauce. I wasn't as impressed with the bread sticks and sauce. There was a shortage of cheesecake at lunch time. Price vary between $30-$40.

I really don't want to give a star, because honestly I don't know which one to give- I will give 2 since I did not express my disappointment with my food and ate it anyway. I am sitting at work 3 days after my visit reflecting on my experience. I have been going to Grant Central East for well over 10 years and my pizza is always been on point; it is (was) my favor pizza joint in town, but I was highly disappointed with my slice of "The Super" I had Saturday afternoon. First, it took longer than it ever has for me to get one slice of pizza. It was 11:50 a.m. and not very crowded. The two tables adjacent to me came in well after me and had multiple people at their tables and got their pizza before me. When I tried to get the server's attention as he was delivering the order to the table next to me (there were (4) people there, I felt like he ignored me because I said, "excuse me," loud enough that everyone around to looked up, but him. I got up from my seat to go to him and he is on his way back carrying my slice of pizza. I asked him how did everybody else get their food before me, to which he stated, it takes the super much longer to cook because of all the toppings...to myself I am like whatever, it took (1) slice longer to cook than the other (6) people's food around me to cook. He placed the slice down and walked away. The pizza did not look good, but I did not even bother telling him. I don't send food back, especially, after the service I received from him. The pizza was lukewarm and crust was very soggy (which tells me it had been sitting somewhere for a long time). I was just really disappointed because I love that spot- it is normally excellent and since it is close to home- my go to spot when I want a good authentic slice of pizza. I know everyone has a bad day and since I did not bring it to anymore's attention (because I don't like to rock the boat), I really can't complain. I am just really disappointed because I have never had a not so good experience here. And also I left a tip when I paid (prior to receiving my table service because I have never had sub par service, guess I will not be doing that anymore either. It will likely be a while before I return. just needed to vent

*This review popped into my email today (4/14/18). I have yet to return; I can't believe it has been 8 months since I...

My partner and I fell in LOVE with this spot in 2020 and we so enjoy our commute to pick up our Grant Central East pizza to enjoy at home; however, when we ordered 5/27/23, the pizza, unfortunately, didn't taste the same! 😩😔

DIFFERENCES: *The crust was definitely different but thankfully, in a good way. Better taste and crunch overall. *Our veggie toppings weren't as "fresh" as its been in the past. I noticed that our veggie toppings were SPARSLEY hidden UNDER the blanket of cheese, and some ingredients of toppings from our order were missed. *The cheese was DEFINITELY different! And unfortunately, NOT in a good way. Cheese had a gummy-grittiness as you chewed that I soon recognized as a LOW quality of cheese(s) used. Cheese didn't "fuse" with all ingredients as it usually has in the past. I honestly could've just gotten a pizza from the frozen section of my nearest supermarket and have been happier!😔 *Marinara sauce - We paid for 4 extra Marinara sauces (as our norm) to only be surprised with a NEW marinara sauce that was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! Completely different than what's been used before! Again, tasted like cheap Walmart/Ragu brand marinara from off the store shelf! UGHH!!

What happened??!? Did Grant Central Pizza East get new management, new cook or a complete new set of employees recently?? I have heard some differences between the day/night crew, in reviews; so maybe I just ordered too late? I dunno but I'm disappointed AF!

PSA: PLEASE go back to how you made the pizzas before!! I used to commute a little over an hour, to enjoy pizza here...

Being that I live so far away, its been exciting, after waiting so long, to go back and visit for date nights - BUT if the quality of pizza has changed, we (sadly)...
