Got exceptional service even though we walked in close to closing time.
The matzo ball soup broth was fantastic, even though the matzo balls were a bit dense for my liking.
The mushroom barley soup broth was very tasty, too!
The cold pastrami with spicy brown mustard on rye bread hit the spot!
I got a half sandwich and soup special, would recommend the soup was a big bowl and the half sandwich was a decent size.
The kids french toast portion is 2 slices, the sides of fruit was small but good and the side of fries was a substantial amount for a side, it also came with a drink, definitely worth the fair price.
The table favorite was the bagel beignets with fresh strawberries and warm strawberry compote, sooooo gooood! Would definitely recommend this treat.
The waitress was sweet and gifted us a box of raspberry rugalach for the road, they were not traditional rugalaches but they were indeed tasty.

Read moreOLD REVIEW. SEE UPDATE BELOW. Been going to Goldbergs for decades. But the takeout has become such a complete disaster that I’ve vowed not to go back. Seemingly every week gets worse. They forgot to make ice again today. They forgot to make cream cheese - so stupid - just do the basics. Checkout is a total s—-show. Even after paying, had to wait 15 minutes for cream cheese. The easiest thing they could possibly do. They should close for a day and re-evaluate what they are doing because all they are doing right now if making their loyal customers angry. It’s so easy to fix.
UPDATE. Thank you management for listening! They added 1 additional staffer helping with checkout and everything is running smoothly and efficiently again. The addition of all of the takeout/delivery services had put a major bottleneck into operations that they just needed to figure...
Read moreDO NOT GET GLUTEN FREE ANYTHING HERE. Please, I never leave reviews, but this is a warning to ALL gluten free diners. Their batter is awful. I came here because I saw great reviews and the gluten free menu options. Awful. Awful. The pancake was not done through, nor is it the type of batter that can truly cook through. Grainy, sticky, dense. Awful. The syrup is unfamiliar to me, not syrupy.. more watery. The bagel was dense, dry, no.. just no. Now, I thought the omelette would be better. Absolutely no. Subpar ingredients, I guess? The patrons seemed local to the area, so perhaps they are loyal to their neighborhood establishments? I support that, but no, no, no. Please look to Egg Harbor for a better GF batter, and way better quality food overall. Now, the service here was wonderful, definitely great staff!! But the food is sad. I am sorry, but I needed to let...
