First off: the entrance is in the back and not in the front. Second: You have to sign your name on the waiting list when you arrive. Do not forget this as nobody will help you otherwise.
OK Cafe is a perfect name for this place, as ok is all it really is. The design of the inside of the building is nice and interesting and the place is much larger than it appears from outside. There are a couple bar areas to sit (I don't believe they actually serve alcohol), and tons of booths and chairs. I went on a Sunday and barely missed the heavy church crowd (yes, down south church's are still a big thing), so I highly recommend coming prior to 10:30 if you don't wish to wait in a long line on a Sunday morning. The waitress was nice and when I first looked at the menu I really thought I found my new favorite place. As someone from out of state, it's been hard to eat out as food choices aren't nearly as good in the south (unhealthy and/or not very good) as other places around the world or in the US. This place "claims" to have farm fresh produce and eggs and fresh squeezed fruit juice. These "claims" are quite false as I saw the waitress pouring the juice we ordered from a generic labeled plastic carton that clearly was not only not freshly squeezed, but also not even name brand or in glass so it wouldn't have a plastic flavor. It lacked any real flavor you'd get from fresh juice. I tried to take a picture for proof, but they saw what I was doing and quickly stepped in the way. I also found the vegetables were not from any sort of farm as the quality wasn't good (unless their farm is Walmart's farm). With all this, I was already disappointed by the time my food arrived and had I have seen this prior to ordering, I'd have walked out solely based on principal (yeah, some people don't like being lied to).
The food was good and had ok flavor, but not anything better than an iHop. I also didn't get enough gravy to cover my biscuits. Nothing farm fresh about this place. They also "claim" to have vegan options, but they've proven themselves to not be honest, so I wouldn't risk trying this place if you are a true vegan. All and all the place was ok and the food was decent, but nothing to go out of your way for. Prices were average and cashing out was quick enough.
Not sure I'd come back, but most certainly would...
Read moreGreat southern restaurant with really good food options!! The food would put you in the mind of early 1900's Georgia. Everything tastes homemade!! Brunswick Stew is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! The dressing had me thinking that I was at a Thanksgiving dinner... They even have baskets of FREE Tootsie Rolls! I wouldn't go and search for Tootsie Rolls at a store and purchase them, but here, having them sitting there next to their custom flavors drink machine (Coke products) and at the exit on the takeout side is just a big ➕️!! They had to do some psychology because it just hits right on your way out!! The staff is super friendly and kind. The restaurant is just down the street from Buckhead's famous mansions area, Tuxedo Row!! Senior citizens in this area LOVE this place, and they are always so nice and happy to converse with you. The food is flavorful and abundant. Prices are sturdy but not EXPENSIVE!! I got a full takeout meal, which included collard greens, mac & cheese, dressing, boneless country fried chicken, lemon pound-cake, and a drink. My mom had 2 vegetables, 1 protein, and a HUGE DEATH BY CHOCOLATE cake. I ended up paying about $57 dollars.
Oh, I can't forget, I GOTTA POCKET FULL OF TOOTSIE ROOOOOLLLLLLLS!!! S/O to CHAD BUTLER, IYKYK!!!!
Well worth it btw!! How often can you go eat with your loved one and all the food is AMAZING, service was with a smile, and ALL THE TOOTSIE ROLLS you can fit in your pockets lmbo, ok no more about TOOTSIE ROLLS I promise.. But seriously, sometimes we pay $20-$30 for 2 people to eat Chick-fil-A, and this is waaaaaaaaaaay better than some roll the dice waffle fries and being rushed through an assembly line like bottles looking for their lid.

Read moreThis is my Grandma’s favorite restaurant. It’s southern food that is almost as good as her cooking. She has Parkinson’s and hasn’t been able to cook in years, but is extremely picky because she was a well-know stellar cook and didn’t use cheap ingredients. My family hs been eating here every week (her sometimes 2-3x wk) for over 10yrs. This is the only restaurant where she doesn’t eat like a bird. All their food is good, but I am a creature of habit and I like what I like. Top two main dishes: 1.) Thick Pork-chop (bone-in, keeps it juicy) 2.) Rotisserie Chicken Top Sides: 1.) Lady Peas!! ((1x yearly for a month or two of summer. Never seen them at farmers markets, grocery stores, Granny’s old garden. If it’s summer ALWAYS ASK or you’ll miss the season. 2.) House Salad with the Vinaigrette dressing. Fresh, made in house only. I’m not a salad person, cause don’t like store-bought dressing much. So I pester them to death, haha, for a to-go serving of that fabulous dressing. Just never ask the really tall, pasty-white, older lady waitress as she’s very brusque and will intentionally embarrass you. 3.) Fresh fried okra (closest ringer to my Granny’s) 🥹 4.) Mashed Potatoes with gravy (and my Granny’s ziploc pocket-book vidalia onions).
Top Waitress: Megan!! So sweet, knowledgeable, attentive, patient & kind. And on the holidays she’s always sporting hilarious costume-ish regalia over her uniform. The kids love it! We do too thou. She’s that waitress that anticipates you needs rather than make you have to flag them down, she just takes care of business in such. gracious/helpful manner. She really make you feel seen.
Ok, hope this helps.. (And don’t steal all my...
