If you're in Atlanta and craving authentic New York-style pizza and subs, look no further than Johnny's New York Style Pizza on Cheshire Bridge Road. This hidden gem offers a delightful experience that will leave your taste buds dancing with joy!
I recently had the pleasure of trying their baked turkey and cheese sub, and it was simplicity at its finest. The sub was perfectly toasted, with the bread having just the right amount of crunch while still being soft enough to bite into. The turkey was incredibly fresh, piled high and generously layered with gooey, melted cheese that oozed with each delightful bite. It was comforting, hearty, and packed with flavor that left me wanting more.
For my significant other, I picked up their calzone with meatballs, which was nothing short of a flavor explosion. The calzone was beautifully baked to golden perfection, with a crust that was both crispy and soft. As I cut into it, I was greeted by an abundance of delicious meatballs, smothered in rich marinara sauce and enveloped in stretchy mozzarella. Each bite was a delightful combination of savory meat, tangy sauce, and the perfect amount of cheese, making it one of the best calzones I've ever tasted. It was truly a dish that embodies comfort food at its best.
I couldn’t resist grabbing a slice of their cheese pizza for my picky eater little girl. Let me tell you, it was a masterpiece of culinary perfection. The slice I tasted had a thin yet sturdy crust, with just the right amount of char that added a wonderful smokiness to the flavor. The sauce was vibrant and zesty, complemented beautifully by a generous layer of gooey cheese that melted to perfection. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, and I found myself savoring the single bite. My daughter should appreciate the resistance I had to consume it all myself.
The atmosphere at Johnny's is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal with family. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that your dining experience is enjoyable from start to finish.
In summary, Johnny's New York Style Pizza on Cheshire Bridge Road is a must-visit for anyone seeking delicious, authentic pizza and subs. Whether you're in the mood for a simple yet flavorful baked sub, a mouthwatering calzone or a classic slice of New York style pizza, this place has it all. Don’t miss out on this...
Read moreThis review is for the pizza only. I ordered a large Johnnys Italian pie for $25. The pizza looked well made and smelled amazing. The actual eating experience was not on par with what I know NY style pizza to be. I was born and raised there. Went to a high school with a pizza parlor basically next door and would eat there at least once a week. The size of a large pie should be huge. The pie box should be too large to carry with one hand. Each slice should be so big that you HAVE TO fold it in half in order to eat it or else it would just flop down in your hand. There’s supposed to be so much grease from the cheese that as your eating it, it drips from the corner of the crust onto your plate. The crust should be soft and chewy but also thin with a crisp to it. When did large pies become so small? And cost so much? The cheese here is bland and doesn’t stretch. The crust is dry but does have a good flavor. I don’t think it earns the title of NY style pizza overall. To anyone who hasn’t had authentic NY style yet, don’t be misled. It’s just not there. Now with all that being said…It was a decent tasting pie on its own. I would like to see this place work on their crust and use the right type of cheese. Everything else...
Read moreSo I recently just left Johnny's Pizza on Cheshire bridge road. Not only were me and my boyfriend not greeted when we walked in but we took a seat in the dining room because they had chairs on every other table neatly due to covid... The neat chairs on every other table is the only compliment I have for them seeing that first they didn't speak and then we sat there for 10 minutes and no one came to the table to greet or ask us about our order. It was four people behind the counter and two kids in front of the counter on bar stools please note that no kids were wearing masks and they were going back and forth behind the counter so it was obvious that someone brought their kids to work with them I'm not a restaurant expert but I'm pretty sure your kids shouldn't be at your job unless you are the owner even then I don't think they should be there coming back and forth from around the counter where food is prepared maskless. I probably wouldn't make such a big deal about this happening if the business was booming but seeing that it was a deserted atmosphere with only 2 customers I don't see how they have any room to not be greeting or not taking every customer that...
