Disappointed with the way we were treated by the staff on Friday night. A friend and I ordered from Fellini's and stepped outside to grab a table. It had rained earlier in the day so the tables on the Fellini's side of the patio were soaking wet. We noticed there were several dry tables 5 steps away under the awning next to La Fonda. We sat down at one. Then a La Fonda server comes outside and tells us very rudely we are not allowed to sit there and we must move.
Considering Fellini's and La Fonda share a parking lot and patio, I do not expect to be kicked out of a table when it is seat yourself. Because he made us move we were unable to sit outside because all the other chairs and tables were wet. It was not a busy day and there were plenty of open tables to sit other guests on the "La Fonda side". He should have let us eat for the 20 minutes we were there without making us feel completely unwelcome and kicking us out of a perfectly empty table. If management doesn't want customers sitting on their "side" of the patio, they need to build a gate that separates the patio. Considering I live within walking distance of this location and could be a regular, it is very...
Read moreSo this is just my experience as of today. The inside area to eat is small and narrow. Decent spacing, though. One major issue I had was I wanted the salmon and salad. I asked for the salmon medium rare or medium. He said they can only make it well done and all their meat is cooked well done. That was a major letdown. They should be more conscious of their people's diets. Some people can not eat well done meat. Also, they don't have hard tacos. Only have soft tacos. The soup had dry yellow rice and was very salty. Artichoke dip was oily. The guacamole dip was good and tasted fresh. My two beef soft tacos were OK but did not taste authentic. Overall I think they need to be more flexible and more authentic. Felt like I was eating fast food. Service was OK. But he didn't even try to ask the chef to accommodate anything. I may try this place again one day. But not...
Read moreFrom Friday, January 20th and beginning of November: Well the servers are SO sweet, prompt AND responsive but I'm sorry... the food has "lost its mojo" since the 90's AND even as recent as #inthetimeofcovid. Paella I had in November had crunchy rice and NO taste of any seafood. I had to doctor it up at home with oyster juice and chicken broth. Last Friday the salsa was watery/bland, the pork chops tasted old and the tilapia was bland! The servers said it was marinated but must have been in hot water. What has happened?!!!! And... who allowed the place to be so chopped up for that ugly building next door such that the patio is PRETTIER than the inside? Owners have "sold out" must not be Spanish..sorry. I'm from Cali and my husband is from Mexico so... not speaking out...
