My boyfriend and I dined here for breakfast with our youngest child. I ordered the waffle w/ hot links, grits, and scrambled eggs. He ordered the (4pc) french toast, Turkey sausage, scrambled eggs, and grits. Our little one got the chicken strips with fries. The price point for the breakfast that we ordered was around $16 each. Kids menu was reasonable. The chicken strips tasted like fish (I can assume that maybe they use the same grease for fry their chicken and fish in). My boyfriends’ scrambled eggs were definitely runny and he had to order more eggs as a replacement. We were expecting four slices of French toast for his breakfast but we got (5) French toast STICKS instead. Mind you, these are frozen French toast sticks from the frozen section of any grocery store. The grits were bland. My meal was halfway decent. I see great reviews on this place and I can see that it comes from the dinner food that they serve and it’s unfortunate that their breakfast didn’t match. We wanted to try a new place and was disappointed in this one. Sidenote: almost every table in there was dirty and/or had crumbs on them. they should really have someone clean the tables so that guests would be more inclined to dine in.

My husband took a wrong turn; but it worked out for our good, letting us see a Soul Food restaurant we’ve never seen before. “Soul Good Fine Food” is a; for real, for real soul food place! Y’all they have Chitterlings, Pig Feet, and Oxtails (we don’t eat this, but I just wanted y’all to know). It’s a line food already cooked except for the fried fish. My husband got: Turkey Wing over Rice, Yams, Cabbage and Corn Bread. I got the Veggie Plate: Mac & Cheese, Collard Greens, Cabbage and Black Eye Peas. Don’t let your taste buds miss out on this food; it’s good, we plan on going back. Just to let y’all know; they charge a “fee” if you use a credit card. Thank God I had $40 cash on me. We had to eat here again. Lunch time is still breakfast prime; at Soul Good Fine Food restaurant. The bacon egg and cheese biscuit is delicious too! The biscuit is so fresh and soft it melts in your mouth like a hot Krispy Kreme donut. We also got 3 To-Go plates: Turkey Patty w/Yellow Rice, Lima Beans, Cabbage and Cornbread. Fried Tilapia w/Yellow Rice, Mac & Cheese and Green Beans. Baked Chicken Wings w/Yellow Rice, Blackeye Peas, Cabbage and Cornbread.

HIDDEN GEM: Long story short…. You can taste the love in the food. I was driving by headed to my friends house and instantly felt the need for collard greens when I saw the name and realized it was within 5 minutes of my final destination. It might not look like it will be incredible, BUT baby…. It was the BEST meal I had during my ENTIRE stay. I called to confirm hours and the customer service was so great over the phone - we got dressed and immediately headed that way. I ordered the pork chops (which are cooked to order), yellow rice w/a Turkey gravy, greens and sweet corn. My friend got the fried chicken, yellow rice, Mac and cheese, black eyed peas and yams. Both meals come with sweet cornbread too! Of course we both ordered red velvet cakes…. Because, why not?!?!? And I took mine on the plane. I will 100% return when I visit again! Definitely want to try their breakfast too! If you are looking for plentiful options, great flavors and affordable prices - head in there!

A friend of mine went to this restaurant and suggested I try it. Trying to support our Black Business, I went Saturday August 6th at 8:30pm because the website stated it was open until 11pm. Not true... Once I got there, there was a note with the new hours indicating it closed at 8pm. AGAIN, trying to support our black business, I want back Sunday, August 7th and order TWO meals. The wait was over 30 minutes for several customers so I asked the THE YOUNG LADY WITH THE NOSE PIERCING WORKING THE REGISTER if she knew how much longer it would be before my food was reading. Without checking, she looks over her shoulder and said I think that's it. I asked if she could check? Her response to me was "I'm doing something" as she stood wiping a spot on the counter and purposely continued to wipe the same spot for at least an additional minute. In that moment, I knew I would not be back. I've not even tasted my food and am giving this restaurant a 1 star. I don't care what the food taste like, Lil Mama with the nose piercing and nasty attitude sealed the deal for me. I'm a first time customer, purchasing 2 meals, and I'm served ATTITUDE. THIS IS WHY BLACK BUSINESSES ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY OUR OWN RACE! Being a black patron, I still expect good customer service! The customer service ruined...

I visited here over the weekend (Saturday 7/12). I went after a long day because I wanted some good comfort food to make a crazy day end better. Sadly, this was not the case. I ordered the catfish dinner which came with two catfish filets over yellow rice, and for my sides I ordered collard greens and yams. The only real edible part of my order was the catfish. The greens were mostly stems and had too much of a vinegar taste. The yams were barely candied at all. They seem to have been sitting for quite a long time as they were dark in color and mushy in texture. There was little to no flavor in them whatsoever. Even the rice was a disappointment. It was bland in taste and crunchy in texture as if it had also been sitting for quite a long while. I did go to the restaurant around 6pm so I understand if fresh food wasn't available. However, I would prefer you tell me that items either aren't fresh or that there will be a wait while fresh food comes out of the kitchen. We spend too much money on poor quality food and it's getting out of hand at this point. To add to poor quality food is the lady taking the order and her nonchalant attitude. She does not appear to care if you're there or not and overall is not the most pleasant person to encounter. WE have...
