I went  to CEI in Atlanta for the first time to get a partial sew-in  before graduation. The young man that styled me had to leave early and another tech took over. He doubled the tracks to make them appear thick and so he would not have to cut them.

Approximately, a two days before the 20th I had to return because my braid on the right hand side of my head in the back  started coming loose. Before I went down to the school, I called and spoke with the instructor and he told me to come back so it could be fixed. The tech fixed it but it has come down again. While I realize they are students and are learning, why is it a problem to correct their mistakes in the process? The woman I spoke to today was conscending and rude. She said its three weeks later and they were not going to keep fixing or tacking my track. I am too afraid to wash it because of the track hanging in the back. Then the woman that answered the phone today said I had to come in by 3 today or not get it done. Perhaps she was the owner because it was a cell phone and not a land line but either way she was not  empathetic towards my situation and was eager to cut me off while I attempted to explain my perspective which I do not appreciate at all as a paying customer.

First of all, I had to come in on May 18th to get my track in the back fixed two days before graduation when I had already been there on the 16th for the full service. So obviously there is a problem and I had done nothing but wrap my hair in a silk scarf to maintain it.  When I returned on the 18th I even had bobby pins in to show the tech where the problem was and how the track was loose.

The track is coming down in the back because of the braid hair not being situated properly. It's literally hanging in the back of my head.

Then today this same woman tells me go to someone professional to get it done and she would give me back 5.00 to do so. Really??? Why not give me half of the 70.00 I paid which was a problem from the start because it was what I was quoted on the phone because they are not supposed to quote prices on the phone.

However to be fair the instructor honored it when I arrived and I appreciate him for that because he did not have too. That was kind of him to do so.

In contrast to my experience with the instructor, I do not appreciate the woman's response nor her attempt to handle me. At the end of the day, your students gave me a card when I was downtown and told me to come by not the other way around. In addition, it's a Black business and if I can support others in their endeavors, then my own people deserve the same.

I have gone to other beauty schools and never had these issues. They are students and they did their best but my stylist had to leave and there are issues with my hair.  Period. He was professional and courteous but the woman who answered the phone today was more concerned about perception rather than what my experience was as a customer at her school. Sadly, if this is what she thinks this behavior is acceptable when someone has paid their hard earned money for a service and there are issues then there will always be problems because this is not a good example for students.

Just fix the issues and do not treat your customers as if they did something wrong. My hair being styled at the school is a clear reflection of what you do and produce. My hair is a walking billboard and could possibly send others to you for hair services but after today I think not.

I should not have to go anywhere else to fix this issue because I spent my money with you. You are accountable for the issues with my hair not anyone else. Furthermore, most stylists do not want to touch or fix anyone else's work. Again, my original tech was professional and courteous. I hope he goes on to have a fabulous career and if he had been there he would have fixed the issue...

I work up the street from this place in the state office building & a co-worker & myself went to this location in Atlanta for a number of reasons. She wanted to inquire about loc re-twist and I need to finish only two classes before I can take the state board. I wanted to obtain info on the school & program since it was so close to where I work it would've been so convenient for me. Well, we walked inside (ignoring the rundown look) & every instructor & student present looked us dead in our faces and not one soul in the building greeted us or even spoke! STRIKE ONE!!! I was already ready to go after that but my co-worker is a bit more forgiving than me. After we stood there in the doorway without being greeted for about 3-4 minutes she (co-worker) walked up to an instructor who was just sitting on a stool (he saw us come in & was one of the ones who did not greet nor ask if we needed assistance). He IMMEDIATELY seemed agitated & before she could even get the entire question out he interrupted her by saying "Oh, that's on the other side! (pointing behind him) You have to go over there for that. THIS is the classroom." (Like we were supposed to know). We then walk to the "other side" & guess what people.....NO ONE WAS OVER THERE!!! People just walked by & no one ever offered help. We waited for a while before we just walked out. The instructor was still in the same spot. No goodbye, come again, did you get what you needed? NOTHING. STRIKE TWO!!!! Reading the reviews I believe what the people say & judging by the responses directly from the owner I see why we were treated this way. This type of UNCOUTH & unprofessional behavior is why its so hard to patronize black owned businesses. How we were treated (like we were bothering them) was just wrong & ridiculous. If I could rate the company negative stars & warn people to STAY FAR FAR AWAY I would. Try Empire Beauty School!! They train to be professional AND can do so while upholding the state board rules & regulations. I'm not sure why they have 4 stars...it should be a -10 just off my...

So CEI was running a special of $650 for their cosmetology program. I paid my tuition and upon seeing the school decided to withdrawal. Mind you you are eligible for a refund if you have never attended. I withdrew and was NEVER given a penny back after doing so. The owner is extremely unprofessional, and it shows by the looks of her business. To be honest, I’m not even sure if this school is accredited... So you should probably look into that as well. I was given the run around and told to dispute my charges after she lied and said it takes 30 days to receive my refund. First of all, who tells you to dispute a charge??? But anyways... upon her telling me to dispute the charge I find out that after 2 months there is nothing my bank can do about it. Long story short, this school is nothing short of a scam. All these 5 star reviews are fake and probably a form of extra credit that the students receive for doing so. Trust and believe every horror story you’ve read with poor reviews and take notice to how unprofessional she is when addressing them. I’d love to see what response/lies she has for this one. Extremely disappointed in this business. People like her are the reason for the lack of support shown to black businesses.

UPDATE: YOUR SITE (which i have screenshotted) Says that you issue a refund and the cancellation fee is $100... So explain why I haven’t received not 1 penny back??? You didn’t address any other facts stated in this. Also, if you all don’t believe me, Just google her name, where her shot will appear and an article of her scamming veterans out of their money as well:-). The nerve of you to even respond. You steady running specials and haven’t paid me my...
