Let me preface this by saying I never write a bad review. But…Most disappointing ghost tour I have ever been on. The tour guide did not know the stories that went with each location. For example, she stated that Bab’s Midtown is where a man murdered his wife and kids. She said that it is not currently inhabited by anything other than the Restaurant. While we were standing there, someone came out of the house clearly living there. Plus, easy fact checking would show Bab’s is the location of a FORMER haunted location. She made it sound like Bab’s is the place where it all happened. Also, we went to a clinic where a man allegedly was doing experiences on corpses. She stated that the place has not been in operation since the 70s or 80s. We questioned her on it, and she kept saying that it is nothing right now. It’s an AIDS Health Clinic to this day. Another thing she told us was that St. Marks is a site where a man murdered 80 women in the 1900s and dragged their bodies in the basement. Serial Killers operating in a big church would be known about, and there is not a single story about there being a man with a hefty bag and a woman in a choke hold in front of that church. The Fox Theater was not a convent like the tour guide said it was and no nuns burned to death in a bathtoom there. The Goodwill was not the first Goodwill ever, and talking about Annabelle being there just does not make sense. The tour guide seemed like a compulsive liar. It’s a pity and sickening to me that someone would take away the true story of the hauntings and try to sensationalize. Do not waste your time or money. I feel like I was scammed out of real stories. I am a part of a ghost hunting group and research haunted locations. This tour is not one to go on if you do not appreciate having smoke blown up your behind. What a joke. They need to vet their tour guides before they let them do a tour because my tour guide obviously did not do her research. I don’t think she took us on the 4 additional...
Read moreI originally gave a 5 star rating. Our guide was on time, friendly and informative. She took time to answer questions. However, I've tried researching some of the stories and none of them are true. I began to question what was being said when she took us to a Goodwill drop off location. She first told us that this was the first Goodwill store. False, the first store was opened in Boston, not Atlanta. Then she told a story about a package arriving without a return address. When it was opened a doll was found inside. Then all sorts of bad things started happening. The doll turned out to be Annabelle. Then she told us that Chucky from Childs Play was based on Annabelle and the reason they gave Chucky a scar on his face was because Annabelle had been dropped and had a crack on her face. Again not true. Annabelle is a cloth Raggedy Ann doll. She isn't a breakable doll like the one in the movies. I also found out the Fox Theater was never a convent and there wasn't a fire that killed nuns. I haven't been able to find anything about a man killing joggers in the 80s and hiding them in the church basement or the doctor who had been keeping body parts and doing experiments in his basement before taking his life. There was no mention of the burning of Atlanta during the...
Read moreThe host of this tour was very nice but the materials she was given was absolute crap. The stories were all very vague and left us questioning the validity of them. Atlanta has such a deep history yet no time periods, no names, no details were given.
When we researched the stories we could find nothing. The doctor? No articles. The Marta Mom? False, those deaths are mentioned nowhere on the internet. The man who killed his family? Can't find it. The fox theater? That was not a convent, it was a shriners hall and there were never any deaths due to a ceiling falling in. The last story, the strangler is the only one we could maybe find, but the story still did not match anything they told us and nothing about the church. The only true story was the Gone with the wind one.
I've done ghost tours in Chicago, St Augustine, Orlando, Savannah and Tampa. I do understand that most of the stories are embellished but at least there is a semblance of truth in the history. This is an insult to the...
